Storelaw has good intentions but there is so much work to be done that this product should not yet be on the market. The outline (which is keyed to many textbooks) is a good start but it's bare bones - they basically copied the book's table of contents.
Printing is a pain - you can't make your own page breaks. You can't view a case and your outline at the same time.
When I buy software - I want phone support available - online support is nice but sometimes it's too hard to explain your problem in an email. Plus the online support can take up to 24 hours to respond - when you're studying for an exam - no one has 24 hours to figure out how to use the outline you worked on all semester.
Many 1L's in my class bought the software and are now trying to sell it at a discount to unsuspecting classmates. My advice - stay away until they come out with a market-ready product. Unfortunately, this is the only law school outlining product available now - but you're better off to stick with plain old Word.

I was dazzled by StoreLaw's advertisement for this software that I bought Outliner and even the Flashcards. BIG mistake! While it does generate your own outline very nicely, everything else is difficult. You can't even customize the thing so that you can use your preferred font. Lots of glitches. Your stuff gets erased. What's more, when you print out the outline, you get a big "STORELAW OUTLINER" logo as a heading - waste of ink and space. It doesn't differentiate between headings and subheadings enough... it eventually becomes one big black blur. The flashcard software is ridiculous and a waste of 25 bucks. The premise of both Outliner and Software is GREAT - but don't buy until the company figures out how to spiff the stuff up better so that it's on par with other software... especially advanced video games which costs the same or even less than this stuff with its basic basic features.

As a 1L starting to work on my outlines, I really wanted a program that could help me organize what I had. I found Storelaw and bought it because it was the only program I could find. What a disappointment! As someone who IS tech-saavy, I can confidently state that the program was written quickly and without much attention to quality or input from actual law students. There is literally no way to the information you put into the program OUT of the program other than: (1) Printing out using their specialized printing program (which will only print to your default printer, without allowing you to change any options) or (2) Copying and pasting bits and pieces from every single individual case into Word or another word processor. What this amounts to is a colossal waste of time, something us 1L's can't afford.
I tried to return the program but of course you can't return opened software anywhere, no matter how badly made it is.
Tech support was non-existant. I tried calling but it is merely a message played in a loop telling you to check their website. Tried to submit a question on the website, but their website is broken too. Bravo, StoreLaw, you're a deadbeat company. And for all who might ask, I am NOT a competitor as on reviewer suggested -- I don't think any competitors even exist.

Storelaw 2.0 is a huge waste of money, and customer support is non-existant. There are very significant bugs in the program (things erase all the time, you're constantly prompted to backup, borders aren't properly laid out, the word processor is VERY clunky, and spellcheck is awful). Avoid Storelaw! I totally regret buying it.

I purchased Storelaw thinking that it would save time outlining. I was very wrong. This program has NO formatting capabilities at all, it wastes space printing headlines for categories you don't use, and you end up with an outline that is 60 pages instead of 20, which any law student knows is useless come test time. When you print it, you can't change page breaks, so it cuts things off, and actually omits the top line of the new page. The print feature is like the "print preview" feature in Word--you have no way of changing anything in the document itself. The most asinine thing is that there are no symbol functions, so you can't even use the section symbol in front of a statute. Tech support is a joke--they say they email you within 20 min., (you can't call and talk to anyone), but all the email says is some line about how you're elevated to "Level 2" status and they'll get back to you in 24 hours. When exams are less than 72 hours away and the outline prints everything out of order, that is unacceptable. I had to cut and paste into Word. Save yourselves the money and frustration and pass on this one.
A caveat--the people who gave this program good ratings sound like they are writing on behalf of Storelaw.

This is my second semester using this software and at this point I don't know what I'd do without it. I'm not one of those "learn while you outline" types so this saves me a lot of time and trouble. I personally save all my notes on Word then add them to the outliner. I LOVE LOVE, NEED the High Court Case Summaries you can downlad into the software. The features it offers are unique and extremely useful when they work. The software has been much improved as of late. A lot of the formatting issues discussed in other reviews of the product are a thing of the past but it still has some pretty major problems such as:
1-You can't email reports, or even save them in their printable form.
2-If you accidentally delete a topic you cannot "undo". This happened to me. After I accidentally deleted a topic on one of the commercial outlines you can download, I lost all the information.
3-Customer service takes its time answering, not good during finals if you have an emergency and did I mention NO PHONE NUMBER LISTED ANYWHERE to reach them?? I know the issue I had could have been easily resolved quickly if a number were available.
In short, I am painfuly dependent on this software for all its unique features but if you don't really need it (you are an ultra-organized, starts to outline early type), don't bother.
