When a horse is sick or injured it's essential to have quick information close at hand, which is why Horse Health Care & First Aid stands above other 'horse care guides'. It's got a nail hole at the top of each two-page spread to hang on a barn wall, offers a hands-free visual reference, and provides horse owners with both routine and critical care facts in an at-a-glance format. A 'must' for any horse owner.

I got this for a new horse owner and after checking it out I wanted to purchase one for myself. The layout is great, lots of diagrams, very barn friendly with a nail hole and open flat spiral bound.

I purchased this book along with Storey's Barn Guide to Horse Handling and Grooming. While Storey's Barn Guide to Horse Handling and Grooming is more of a beginner horse owner book, THIS book is something that EVERY hose owner should have!! There is so much helpful information in this book! From hoof care to how to give vaccinations to wound treatment, this little guide covers it all! AND it does it in a way that everyone can understand (you don't have to have any vet experience). I have used this guide extensively and I have only had it for about a month! You cannot go wrong by purchasing this book, I'll guarantee it!

The book is pretty much on the simplistic side but the information is very easy to reference.

I found this book to be the best quick reference guide to horse health & first aid. The book is set out into 9 sections from Nutrition to treating wounds. All are easy to read and the book is full of excellent techniques to tackle anything with your horse, and the illustrations are fantastic. The design of the book is great. It is spiral bound so it makes it very easy to pick the page you want, hang it nearby and follow directions or information with ease. I would recommend this book for all horse owners and equine students like myself!!!

Whether you have one horse or ten this book is a must have and should be kept next to the first aid kit at every barn. It should be required reading for any horse owner. The illustrations make everything in this book easy to understand. I really like that it covers not just first aid but total health care of the horse and especially preventative care. The best horse owners are educated horse owners and this book is an easy and informative way to learn all the basics for horse health and first aid.

This is truly a wonderful book for eveyone to have on hand... It is very well written and will explain things easily even to someone just starting out with horses... Also, there are easy to follow illustrations which also make this book fool-proof... A must have for every horse caretaker... =)

This book is very detailed and covers many health issues. The illustrations are wonderful.

It is excellent. We got into recueing 3 Horses, by acident, and knew nothing about how to care for them. It told us everything we needed to get them in good shape. I recommend this book for anyone who has horses. It is the best!
