5.0 out of 5 stars Rancid Clones? Yes... Good Music? Yes!, August 11, 2006

This band does sound exactly like Rancid, but I'm very happy with this album none-the-less. If you have been hoping for another Rancid release like "Let's Go!" or "...And Out Come the Wolves" then pick up this album, you won't regret it. You will be singing along within 30 seconds of pushing "play" on your stereo.

4.0 out of 5 stars hmmmmm....have I heard this before., May 31, 2006
This review is from: Stories Are True (Dig) (Audio CD)
Time Again is a great band from California. They released a E.P. on Rancid Records before moving to Hellcat and releasing this fine peice of music art. People have dogged on them in the past for ripping off Rancid. But Rancid is a good band. And this band just looks up to them. The song writing is a bit like Rancid, but these guys know what its like to really go through what they are talking about in their songs. If you like Rancid then pick this up. If you dont like Rancid dont bother to pick this up because you'll hate it. I love Rancid and I love Time Again. Amazing album

4.0 out of 5 stars as if, October 2, 2006
This review is from: Stories Are True (Dig) (Audio CD)
a lot of people write this band off as being a carbon copy of rancid...say what you want but rancids been one of my fav bands since i was 16...yes..the singer..does sound very very similiar to tim..yes alot of the themes (junkies, hookers, being punk, ect..) do make their way on this album. a lot like a lot of early rancid's work think "lets go" and the s/t album...perhaps with a bit of "..and out come the wolves"..but you know what? all three of those albums are amazing...so how can time again possibly suck? my fav song on this album right now is the last song "street walker" a lil ska ditty bout hookers....so damn catchy

They may be shameless Rancid clones down to the raspy lisp and songs about junkies, I mean, a complete and utter walking Rancid cliche, but at least the album is better than anything the Rancid crew's done in the past 10 years. And there are worse bands to emulate than Rancid. I mean, thank god they're not trying to sound like Ben Folds Five or something.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, November 13, 2008

Not much good punk being written in this decade. Sort of a lost decade if you ask me....but this is great. Reminds me of the brilliant stuff that was being written in the 90's. I dont think they sound that much like Rancid. Although they do to a certain degree. I highly recommend these guys, they kick a**.

5.0 out of 5 stars I didn't start no violence!, June 2, 2008
This review is from: Stories Are True (Dig) (Audio CD)
I love these boys. Spent 3 days with em and couldn't get enough. This was the first CD of theirs I owned, given to me by Daniel Dart. Song #4 features my absolute fave...Tim Armstong (of Rancid). If you like Rancid you'll love these boys.

4.0 out of 5 stars Today a legend is born, May 20, 2008

Back in the day they did sound very much like Rancid, I won't disagree with any of these other reviews, but they have broken away from that stereotype a bit. On their debut album though, we get a load of classic West Coast/East Bay melodic punk rock that manages to fly under the media radar and avoid too much exposure, which we all know from experience leads to a band ultimately losing their signature sound.

This CD is not as good as the new one, Darker Days, but if you had never listened to the aformentioned sophomore album, you'd think this CD was amazing, because it is. Elijah's guitar skills are better than most of what Rancid's put together, Rancid having two mediocre guitarists who seldom play simultaneously. He's no wizard on the six string, but his riffs are undeniably catchy and he has so much fun playing them, as I learned when I saw these guys live. Daniel's voice is very easy on the ears and appealing, even if he sounds like Tim Armstrong at times. One downside to this CD is that for the most part, Oren's bass is grounded and you can't really hear it except for tracks like "Broken Bodies" "Lost in Hollywood" and "Streetwalker"

Overall, this CD has ALOT of standout tracks, much similar to Darker Days, which is what makes it so much better than what's being put out in punk these days. Most punk is very forgettable and all the songs sound the same. These guys have style and are more original than most other punk bands even if they get tied to Rancid ALL THE TIME. I can promise anyone who listens to this will have some song or another stuck in their head, whether it be "Kenny" "Criminals" or the title track, which are some of the most infectious songs written to date.

This is a great band with a promising future, and I think everybody that has ever listened to a punk band before, even if you're a 70's and 80's advocate that is sick of all the poser bands out there today claiming to be punk. I won't get into that debate, but seriously, pick this up, these guys are awesome.

Highlight tracks: "Junkies" "Cold Concrete" "Lost in Hollywood" "Streetwalker"

5.0 out of 5 stars very good album, March 27, 2008

I really like the raw sound of this album, they do have similar sound to rancid and a few other bands, but honestly rancid's sound was very similar to many of the original hardcore bands in the early 80's. If your into minor threat, black flag, rancid, etc, your gonna love this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tired of waitin' for the new RANCID album? Buy some TIME AGAIN then!, December 28, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Stories Are True (Dig) (Audio CD)
This is a pretty cool CD. Yes, it sounds almost exactly like something Rancid would have done 10 years ago, but it ain't bad. You can hear that they do have passion at least, and that they do enjoy what they are doing and that they're not lying about what they're singing about. How COULD you lie about stuff like that? Anyway, I would suggest listening to the songs 'Broken Bodies', 'Cold Concrete', 'Kenny' and 'Life on the Run'. That will give you a good idea of how the rest of the album sounds. If you like it, great. Buy it then. If you don't, well...don't. Cheers!!
