Great book but wish it were hard cover,
This review is from: Stories of Dragons (Usborne Young Reading) (Paperback)
We have bought A LOT of Usborne Young and First Reading books for our girls to build a library of beginning level chapter readers. This book is not like the others in that it is soft cover, this seems to be the way Usborne is going now with them all which is a shame, the hard cover ones are so nice and have a ribbon for marking your page. We got this one with the CD (this listing on Amazon is for the one without the CD but I am leaving my review for it here as the one with the CD is not available new from Amazon) because we were going on a long road trip and we thought having another book on CD would be nice (we have Stories of Magical Animals and Billy Goats Gruff on CD by Usborne too). The girls loved listening to the CD, all the Usborne CDs have the it read first then the second time it can listened to with the chimes for turning the page. At 4.25 years old our girls have not yet gotten the turning the page on queue thing down yet, but they don't care. The CD is nice like the others in that it has sound effects with the reading. The stories, unlike many other dragon books we have, portray the dragons as the bad guys, all except one story that is, so this was a bit of a turn for our girls. The first chapter is about dragons in general, I liked the story/chapter about the man who outsmarted the dragons best, it is really clever, there is a story about a giant worm that a village dragon defeats (my least favorite story) and a story about a man who is stuck two dragons in their lair all winter as the hibernate, only an OK story in my opinion. A must book for any dragon lover, our girls love this book!
