I liked the series better than I did the live action movie, in which the animated series was based on. In the animated series, many things that were missing from from the 1998 film returned such as Godzilla's radioactive breath, and the hard to kill attitude that is associated with the creature. I also liked how Godzilla fought other mutatations that plagued the Earth, but yet still was being persued by the military. So he wasn't really the "Good Guy" image he had in the late 1960's and early 1970's. I perfer Godzilla being primarly vicious, probably why I love the Heisei Series of Godzilla (1984-1995). Anyway the animation is very well done and has has the appearance of Japanese anime at times. This video collection is a must have for any true Godzilla fans. I hope the sequel to the 1998 movie will be based on the animated series.
