I watched this version of the Snow Queen many years ago on the USA channel. I never thought I would see this particular version again. Unlike many of the cartoons for children today, there are no scenes that encourage bad manners. The stories are just as they were many years ago without some new interpretation. I feel comfortable showing this to children and would recommended this dvd for parents still interested in preserving a traditional type childhood for little ones growing up that includes fun fairy tales.

This is the version I remember from my childhood. I wasn't sure so I got it on netflicks. I'm happy to report that this is the version narrated by Sigourney Weaver. The version with the red haired Gerda and the boy named Kai.

I grew up abasolutely LOVING these stories, and the awesome shot of the Snow Queen's castle.

I bought this for my mother at her request and she absolutely loved it. The Wild Swans was very well produced and was certainly the highlight. It's sad they no longer make cartoons like that nowadays.

I remember these stories from my childhood, and how I was impressed that the main characters continued to try in the face of hardship. Great video for the young child!
