As a librarian and a storyteller, I'm always looking for good stories to tell. I have my favorites, but in my current Christian school setting I wanted stories with meaning that I can tell the kids--plus the kids I see on a weekly basis are from 5 to 13 years old, which is a big range. I've been there 5 years and I was feeling pretty stale, when I found this book. What a treasure! From folklore to written stories to adapted Tolstoy tales, each one of these stories is a keeper. What a great find!
