I really enjoyed reading this book I read this book when I was 11 years old I really like it because it tells you about the mexican legends such as the sobbing woman, dancing with the devil and many more. I also like because my grandma told me about the stories and they are all on this book. It's a really good book.

As a teacher, I did everything I could to get my students to read more often. When I stumbled upon "Stories That Must Not Die," I realized I had discovered a treasure. It quickly became part of my classroom library. Not only did my students become voracious readers fighting to be the one to take the book home, but parents of my students consumed it with so much fervor, they asked if they could borrow it. Consequently I bought this book several times over the years, because it became my most checked out book and I had to keep replacing it; someone would eventually "lose it." I believe my students became huge fans of "Stories That Must Not Die" because they could relate to the characters and the collection of stories are so interesting and compelling. Most of the tales are ghost stories from Texas. Being a Texas gal with Mexican roots, I actually grew up hearing most of these stories. It is appropriately titled "stories that must not die" because as everyone inherently knows, a good story never dies. We keep telling and retelling them and passing them on to our children and grandchildren. One of the interesting features about this book includes the text in dual columns written in English and Spanish. They are written side by side and easy to follow. Each story begins with a narrator who sets up the tale. Many of the stories are short and I think this initially was the attraction for my students when they had to write book reports. But "Stories that Must Not Die" is so well written and the stories are so fascinating, it is no wonder that the reader quickly digests the entire book. Stories such as "Dancing with a Ghost," "La Llorona" (The Weeping Woman) and "The Headless Rider" are among my personal favorites. "Stories that Must not die" is a book I highly recommend!

I was impressed with the quality of the book. I had a hard time trying to find this particular book. I went to Barnes and Noble and they did not have it. Thank you.

I grew up in south Texas and, if we were really, really good all week, we were either read stories from this series or allowed to watch film strips of them. Such wonderful southern folklore! Bought this book to share with my kids.
