Book Description

What time is the 3:00 parade? Why does a child need to be 40 inches tall to ride a roller coaster? What happens when the president of France gets lost inside Pirates of the Caribbean?

A former employee, or "cast member", at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom answers these and other questions while sharing humorous stories about working inside the world's most popular theme park.

"Stories from a Theme Park Insider" takes you inside the park's famous tunnels and backstage for a look at how theme parks really work, and the funny moments and embarrassments that can happen when your work is someone else's vacation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Priceless July 23, 2011

This is a priceless collection of peaks behind the theme park curtains. You won't look at theme park "cast" members or your fellow guests the same way again after the insight gained from this fast read. The entertaining anecdotes cover a broad range of human leisure-time activity, from the idiotic to the heroic. And the entire family can take it in. Our 12-year-old son, who very, very seldom reads a book, wouldn't give me back my Kindle until he had finished reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining. October 5, 2011

Loved this book. The writer shares interesting and amusing stories about the time he spent working for Disney. I read the whole thing in one sitting. The book is clean and wholesome and would earn Disney's stamp of approval but it's not stuffy. Highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book! September 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have a love for all things Disney, especially Disney parks related. I love hearing about the inner workings at all the parks and the behind the scenes "goings-on" to make the parks work and seem flawless, and, well, magical.

This was a great book, I was laughing and smiling through the whole thing. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer! I also loved the little bonus chapter interlude called "How to have a horrible theme park vacation" I was laughing out loud because on every Disney vacation I have taken, I run into these EXACT people! That chapter was priceless.

The anecdotes were great and covered everything cast members have to deal with from cast aways on Tom Sawyer Island to how to pick a pregnant woman out of a lineup (it's not as easy as you think!!)

Get this one if you love Disney parks. It's clean (well except for that one POTC story, but even then the author doesn't say anything bad he just hints at what is going on) and hysterical and just all out fun.

P.S. I don't know about you but I wish the eggroll cart in Adventureland still sold the Eggroll Hot Dog. I would love to try one! I've been craving a hot dog now since I read that chapter!

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable read
It's a short book, with entertaining tales of the authors time as a cast member at Disney. The stories are entertaining and show a side of Disney that I have always wondered about.
