India-Stories of Partition,
By
This review is from: Stories About the Partition of India (Paperback)
A compilation of personal narratives of those (usually simple people) who were caught up in the madness that occurred at the time of the creation of Pakistan and India. Poignant, gripping snapshots of a past that could re-ignite (even today 50+ yrs later, refugees from India in Karachi are still referred to as "muhajirs" or refugees) The first story about duck hunting comparing migrating ducks to the fleeing people was written so beautifully it bought tears to my eyes. A must for anyone with an interest in that part of the world.
