Storiez, Shai Linne's third CD, and second one of 2008, celebrates the human tradition of story telling, as a vehicle for informing, teaching and warning. This is much lighter in tone to 'The Atonement', but still packs a punch lyrically.
Rick Horne narrates the CD, and whilst this might sound cheesy, for me it works, and adds something to the CD. Highlights include: 'Wake up Your Alive', which a symbolic song about new life for the 'Old Man (our flesh)
'A Simple Love Story', the symbolic nursery rhyme that explains the sin process so that a child can understand, Penelope Judd', As the Hour draws near( very deep, as we look at three people, close to death, one a Christian, who was luke warm in his faith, and fears what awaits on the other side , one who has run the faith of life in obedient, and who looks forward to eternity in Heaven with his Father, and the last who denies the existence of a God. 'Letter from the grave', which takes up from' As the Hour Draws near' from the view of the last person, who now resides in Hell, and his thoughts for his family & friends that still are alive (please see Luke 16:19-31) Martyrs (my favourite track) looks at three people from different times in our history, who have given up their life's for Christ's sake (Please see Luke 9:24-25)

This CD had me going to my Bible, and is an encouragement to my faith, and is the best CD, of this genre, that I have purchased this year

What more can I say about this artist? Not only does Shai Linne bring great beats but his lyrics are top notch among Christian rappers. This album is very unique, by telling stories yet still remaining true to the scriptures. GREAT WORK!!

Shai Linne glorifies God in his albums and there is not a Christian rapper who comes within miles of his talent and Bible knowledge. Shai's greatest songs are;

As you can see Shai has many great biblically accurate and God glorifying songs. I have been blessed by his music and if you don't think a Christian rapper can glorify God you need to listen to his song "In Adam All Die," there is more biblical truth in that one song than an average 30 minute protestant Sunday Sermon.

Trust me, you will be blessed by his talent which he glorifies God with and his songs sound like no other Christian rapper out there. Shai's song "Greatest Story Ever Told" is one of the greatest songs created in the last 50 years! That is not an exaggeration, that song is one of a kind and every single Christian should own a copy of it along with, "In Adam All Die."

If you are too religious to listen to a God glorifying Christian "Rapper" you have other issues that you need seek God's face about. Spend $.99 and buy an mp3 copy of "Greatest Story Ever Told" at Amazon and see if I am telling you the truth.

I do a prison minstry and have been sending some of the lyrics to my pals behind bars on death row. It is such a great cd that is packed full of some great Bible truths!

I DON'T CARE TOO MUCH FOR ANY HIP HOP MUSIC BUT WHEN I HEARD THIS I WAS AMAZED AT ALL THE THEOLOGY PACKED INTO IT. THIS HAS MORE THEOLOGY IN IT THAN ANY CHRISTIAN MUSIC THAT I'VE EVER HEARD. A LOT OF MUSIC IS TAGGED "CHRISTIAN" BUT YOU WOULDN'T KNOW IT BY LISTENING TO IT. LISTENING TO SOME OF THESE "STORIEZ" BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES. SHAI LINNE IS AN AWESOME MAN OF GOD!!!!

I was a little unsure about purchasing this album, because I had not heard much of Shai Linne, and he also had a style distinct from many other Christian rappers that could possibly fail on the scale of a whole album release. Boy was I wrong! This album is amazing, and possibly my favorite Christian rap album. Shai continuously stands apart from the rest of the Christian rap circle, both lyrically and thematically. On the first point, he has a flow that mimics some of the best rappers of the late 90s east coast style, and it works magnificently. His lyrical focus is less on punchlines and more on clever rhymes and phrasing, which makes his flow really, well, flow.

On the thematic point, this album is presented as a collection of stories of different people, in different times, from different viewpoints, and is a motif that Shai sticks to without compromise. His desire to stick to this framework is very admirable and gives the album an awesome kind of weight. I can even forgive the couple of songs for which this doesn't really work, such as "Simple Love Story". Because for the most part, it works fantastically: "As The Hour Draws Near"/"Letter From the Grave" is uncompromisingly deep and personal, while "Martyrs" literally gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Shai's lyrical and thematic efforts are absolutely perfected in "Wake Up, You're Alive", a haunting allegory of personal revelation. If you could only listen to one track on this album, that one is it. If you love both God and hip-hop, you need this album.

I'm a huge fan of Shai Linne's music, and this albulm "Storiez" is as good as it gets! it puts God and Jesus in prospective, buy this albulm!

While almost all hip hop artists, even the greats, produce a mediocre album at some point, shai linne still continues to shine lyrically, theologically and musically. While I personally prefer his sophomore work, "The Atonement" due to the dark soundscape and arrangement of the songs, Storiez, is a much more accessible work, giving the listener uncompromising theology, without compromising lyricism and production quality. Storiez is an album to be enjoyed by those who like every sub-genre of hip hop from pop to underground. A must buy for the hip hop purist.

For those who have enjoyed past Shai Linne albums, Storiez, is no disappointment. Shai bangs out topic after topic; from a "Simple Love Story", to a glimpse into the lives of a Jewish family on the first Passover celebration in Egypt.

This CD spans the range of human emotion, being both lighthearted, with "Penelope Judd", and extremely somber, with "Letter from the Grave" and "Martyrs".

Overall, this is a very satisfying offering from one of LampMode's premier artists. If you like Christian Rap, Theology, or the God of the universe, this is the CD for you.

This is an amazing cd. Not much to say, but praise Jesus for raising up this man to honor God with his talents.
