4.0 out of 5 stars It looks good, but only ok with functionality.
The armoire looks great, but the doors are a bit crooked, my husband did put it together, but I really don't think it is because of his handywork, his is really good. Also the drawers are really shallow, the back part of the drawer is about half the height of the front of the drawer. There is also no bar or rack to hang clothes on inside the armoire.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very dad quality product!
Do not buy it.
This product is very hard to assemble even for an engineer like me.
The product is made from very cheap materials.
The door hinges are not strong enough to hold the doors.

I did not even try to finish assembling it. Midway during the
process I decided to return it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price..., June 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Wow, where do I begin about this product!
I did a ton of research over a few months time period, looking for a 3 piece nursery set at a reasonable price in a dark wood. Seemed everywhere I found a set I liked, it was either too expensive, or the company didn't have all 3 matching pieces in stock! I checked the typical Babies R Us store and other baby stores, but just couldn't find a great buy. We are on our last child and don't plan to re-use the set, so we didn't need a fancy one to last several kids and 15 years.

I read other reviews and have to agree with several points reviewers made...Stork Craft customer service is horrible. Phone lines seem to be constantly busy, I have emailed them and got an automated reply, and have filled out a numerous missing part requests and got nothing!

Their products are missing pieces and the directions are HORRIBLE! Might as well not include any instructions on putting these items together as they are so confusing, have so many pieces, and don't have great detail. My husband is very good at putting things together and had trouble with this furniture! The doors don't line up right, one is higher than the other.

We've had this for about 6 months now, and seems to be holding up nicely so far. It looks nice in the nursery, and didn't cost a fortune. The design is great - I love the drawers and the door w/ shelves inside. There is no hanging bar inside...I didn't see that clearly stated in the product description. The top is great for a TV for your little one to watch movies...since it's higher than the crib, the elevation allows them to see. Plus, they can't reach that high up to mess with things!
Depending on your needs, this may be a great buy, or a nightmare.

I bought this for my 10 year old son's room. I wanted to use it to hang his clothes and for extra space. The clothes hangers don't fit. You have to purchase small hangers,(it's not wide enough). The draws are roomy but the bottom of the draws are cardboard, also the back of the armoire is cardboard. It does look nice when it's put together. But it is very flimsy and wobbly. I do not trust this in my son's room. This is not made for a childs room. Take my advise and don't buy it. It is not worth $299.00

3.0 out of 5 stars so so, November 28, 2011

difficult instructions but my husband managed. Hardware isn't the best after opening and closing doors. Not necessary but there is not a bar for hanging, just 2 shelves. Would recommend but with warnings. My husband probably would not recommend....

1.0 out of 5 stars Stork Crap Armoire, September 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The wood is very lightweight poplar... This is to be expected for such a inexpensive piece. But still, $300 is $300. I would have been okay with things if it were not for the cheap hardware. I had about 3 of the turn and lock mechanisms break on me and had to go the the hardware store to purchase additional screws which will probably do a better job anyhow. Some of the screw actually popped through the finish when tightened with the turn and lock mechanisms.

The directions were actually good (if the correct numbers were on every piece - which they were not).
Overall I think $100 - $150 is the true worth of this do it yourself Armoire. HAs a nice look... but wouldn't buy again or would use different hardware.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, March 31, 2011
I bought this dresser for my first daughter because it looked nice and seemed to be a decent price. It was daunting to think about buying a real solid wood dresser in addition to all the other things you need for your first baby, but I wish we had done that. The left side actually broke as I was assembling it, but after the headache we went through to get it (we were stationed overseas) I wasn't about to return it, so we requested a new side piece (sent for free without hesitation from storkcraft, points for them). At first it didn't seem too bad; not terribly sturdy but functional. Then my daughter began to crawl and she wanted to pull out the drawers and hang on them and I realized how very little it would take to break them right off the track. Plus the doors and drawers won't open at the same time because no matter how much I adjust them, the doors hang low and rub on the top of the drawer. I would say that this is "ok for the money" but this is NOT a cheap piece of furniture! Save yourself the regret and get a real dresser, or just a solid bookcase with some baskets, because you won't get much use out of this before it either falls apart or your child breaks it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's only ok., February 24, 2011
I bought this 7 months ago, the pictures were super cute. It ends there. My husband put it together and fussed the entire time, asking who wrote the instructions? A child? He was better off putting it together with out them. Also the left door hinge does not work right, I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with it but the doors are not level, and when you open the left on it opens the drawer under it because it rubs it. There was nothing inside to hang clothing on. We had to get an expandable rod and put that in there and then add a board on each side to keep it from sliding down from the clothes. The materials it is made out of is not as sturdy as it says in the reviews. All and all I am NOT happy with this product, or any of the stork craft aspen line! It may be a great price and super cute in the pictures, but please keep looking!

4.0 out of 5 stars A stretch to assemble even for a veteran RTAer, January 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love the finished product. The drawers are even, the doors are even, and everything works smoothly.

Assembly was a NIGHTMARE. Instructions were awful, parts were not labeled, and the hardware (about 200 pieces at least) was all thrown into one big plastic bag. I hate it when care is not taken to package things in a manner that makes sense, and I've owned about 30 RTA pieces. The cabinet is very sturdy, but the cam-lock construction did not feel very "permanent" to me. With Sauder products, you turn the cam-lock almost 360 degrees around, making it really tight. These cam-lock slipped around, and almost popped out on every single joint. They are made of real metal, so I believe they'll last for awhile, but I'm going to need to go in every now and again and tighten everything back up.

All in all, a beautiful cabinet. But if you purchase the Storkcraft Rochester crib like I did, don't expect the "Oak" finishes to match. The cabinet is a nice dark brown and the cribs have a reddish tint to them. I guess I could have spent another $200 and purchased the Aspen cribs in Oak, but it just wasn't in the budget for our twins' nursery.
