The rocking horse is really very cute and easy to put together. The price on Amazon.com was the best I could find. Shipping was quick and all pieces were included. The instructions to put it together were clear. I bought the horses for my twins who are 2. They are able to get on and off by themselves. My 5 year old also loves them and still fits very well on them.

WOW! I bought 2 of these for my 2 year old twins and wow is it a grrrrrreat buy. The price is right, the rocking horse is very sturdy and it is a very good looking horse. My twins love to rock on these and I know that they will last a very long time! Highly recommend this rocking horse!

I did a thorough search when I wanted to get a traditional gift for a newborn that was not plastic and did not have 100 bells and whistles. I made a great choice. It arrived as predicted - all pieces in the box in perfect shape - and easy to assemble. The proof of its success was when the older brother took right to it and gave it the toddler seal of approval !

Although my 4 year old is slim this is a very sturdy rocker and can easily handle an oversized child. For girls this is a dream playmate. Easy to ride and safe also. For boys it is a bit more difficult. Chuck's balls kept hitting the neck so he would cry some but went back for more. Maybe add some padding to protect the family jewels.

We had a hard time choosing which finish we wanted on this rocking horse. Most of our wooden toys are natural wood- usually a birch or maple. The picture of the natural horse looked almost white and the color of the yarn wasn't our favorite so we were a little leary. But we didn't want to go with the oak or cognac either b/c we knew those would be too dark. Well just in case anyone is considering the natural finish but unsure of how it will look, it's beautiful! It's a very, very light oak. And the yarn complements it nicely, unlike in the picture. We are very happy with our purchase!

One month later, the tail came off! It's just stapled on and I'm glad I caught it before the kids started playing with and/or lost the staple for our crawling baby to find! Not sure how we're going to reattach it, but hopefully we can come up with something safer than a staple!

Otherwise we still love this toy!

I ordered the Stork wooden rocking horse for my grandson for Christmas. I was able to get $30 off by applying for an Amazon Credit card and also ordered at a time when shipping was free, so ended up spending about $12.50 for the horse. When I received it, 2 parts were broken. I called, explained the situation, and they immediately sent me a replacement horse and a label for free shipping on the return. We had just minor difficulty in assembly when some holes did not exactly line up for the screws, but were able to assemble in anyway in a short amount of time. It's solid, attractive and my eighteen month old grandson loves it.

If you're looking at the picture above and have mixed feelings about the mane and tail, don't worry. The horse I got had a deep red mane and tail that matched perfectly.

Also, as long as you have a philips-head screwdriver you have everything you need to put it together. For something so simple to put together it is surprisingly well made and sturdy. The design of the runners prevent all but the most violent and deliberate efforts to tip over.

Also, the lack of a bridle rope hanging down is a design advantage. It give the child no option other than holding onto the pegs or the neck, both more secure than holding onto a loose bridle rope.

In summary, well made and a joy to the kids who ride it, this Cherry Rocking Horse is so attractive it is one toy you won't mind leaving out when company come.

This is a really nice rocking horse, and is even better than that when you compare the price of it to many others. Assembly is required, but not hard. The hardest part of assembly is making sure the runners are set right. My 1-year old nephew loves his new rocking horse!

My husband and I ordered this as a gift for our 1-year old granddaughter. I had done quite a bit of research before selecting this one, and I was not disappointed. This is a quality wood product that should last for years and years. Our granddaughter will love it!

I had a gorgeous old handcrafted oak rocking horse that had belonged to my first children when they were babies. I was so excited for my youngest child to use it when she became a toddler. However, before she had the chance it was stolen while we were in the middle of moving. It seriously made me sick and I thought I'd never be able to come close to replacing it. While this is of course not as perfect as that one was- it is still very beautiful (I bought the oak one) and I'm not as upset as I had been. I never thought I'd be able to find any sort of affordable replacement since I've seen so many under a hundred that look so cheap.

It's so sturdy that I think even an older child could ride on this without breaking it. It was extremely easy to assemble. It seriously took my husband less than 10 minutes. The only thing that bugs me is that the tail is only held together with one staple. It will need to be reinforced at some point, but it doesn't bother me. I'm very happy with my purchase. I don't think that many toys will for the price as this rocking horse would get.
