I purchased these because they were recommended in a fishing book I was reading Trophy Fishing Secrets. Well, they certainly work, but I was disappointed to see that they contained lead. The good news, as I already mentioned, is that they work and as Gregg Munck tells in his book, you can cut them down and stick them on to get just the weight you want. If you really care to control where your lure sits underwater, you can do it with these strips. Gregg also says to put a little dab of clear fingernail polish on them. I expect that is to keep them in place. I didn't need to do that, but I bet it doesn't hurt. My only tip is to figure out the placement before you put the nail polish on. :-) Overall, the purchase is worth it. Just be sure you know that it contains lead.
