Readers of Christian romances should be pleased to see the popular "Daybreak" series debut on audio, here read smoothly by Jean DeBarbieris. In this introductory volume, former singer Jennifer Terry arrives for a job interview at a small Christian radio station. To her surprise, she is hired on the spot by station owner Daniel Kaine, a former Olympic athlete who was blinded in a car accident by a drunk driver. Jennifer soon learns that Daniel is receiving threatening phone calls and that someone appears to want him dead. As she helps him solve the mystery, the two fall in love. While the suspense of the story is only lukewarm, the romantic elements are much more solid. DeBarbieris's narration enhances the book's appeal. However, noises such as shufflings and gulps can occasionally be heard in the background. Buy for demand.?Melissa Hudak, Centegra Health System, McHenry, IL

For a story set in West Virginia, DeBarbieris does a wonderful job of using the right accent, while reading clearly and pleasantly. S.C.A. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
