5.0 out of 5 stars Yep, Underrated
I wish this CD had been given its just due. It was one of the most sensual from El Debarge, so much that he asked God for forgiveness for being over the top in the liner notes. Love it!

I love all things DeBarge. In spite of my DeBarge bias, this cd is excellent! "Another Chance" w/brother James is very sensual worth every rewind and/or repeat. Tracks "You Know What I Like w/Chante Moore, "In The Storm", "Thick" are the most notables but as a whole, the cd is cool. I'm looking forward to a DeBarge reunion & another El solo project hopefully soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars In The Storm, January 11, 2009

In The Storm was a very good album that shows El DeBarge's range of talent. His collaboration with Maurice White on this album proved to be a good choice not to mention the variety of writers and guest singers on various tracks. A true El DeBarge fan or fan of R&B music would truly enjoy this work of musical art.

This album was very underrated. It was a brilliant collection of songs to show El's diversity and creativity.

5.0 out of 5 stars EL Never Lost it!, January 21, 2011

So, I bought this album recently and I cant stop listening to it.Since he released his latest CD Second Chance, I had to go back into this man's catalog. And, I was definitely not disappointed.

There are a few songs that obviously are heavily involved with the early 90's sound. However, most of the album has timeless hits. EL collaborated with Maurice White on this album, and it proved to be a good choice the songs show his versatility as an artist. Also, if you love EL love ballads then here's another reason to buy the album, In the Storm maybe his most sensual album, songs like "Love Me Tonight" and "Another Chance" are romantic, and sexy.
You can hear the influence of his idol Marvin Gaye on records like the titled track "In The Storm".I would recommend this album to anyone. But, if you are really into R&B this is a great buy. EL is so under-rated he is truly one of the greatest vocalists ever.
