5.0 out of 5 stars An Killer Album, September 5, 2001

This review is from: Storm in the Heartland (Audio CD)
I just bought this an couple of weeks ago, and i have to admit, even though it's an older CD, it can still get you rocking. "Storm in the Heartland", "Casulty of Love", and "Redneck Heaven: are all awesome songs. I saw Billy perform an couple of days ago, and i wanted him to sing Storm in the Heartland. Which he did'nt, i guess cause it's an older song. When I met him later, i asked him why he did'nt do it, and he said his keyboardist was'nt good at it. Oh well. But if you get the chance to see him perform and you have'nt seem him yet, take that one opportunity. You won't be dissapointed. He was supporting his new Southern Rain album. Another CD worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album, December 27, 2002
This review is from: Storm in the Heartland (Audio CD)
This is quite possibly Billy's best CD. The songs are top notch, the music is rockin', and he really demonstrates his awesome "growling" ability throughout the CD. This is more of a rock album than country, in my opinion, especially because of songs like "Geronimo," "Enough Is Enough," "Roll Me Over," and "Casualty Of Love." For fans of the more country-sounding stuff, you'll love the title track, "Redneck Heaven," "I Ain't Even Left," and "Patsy Come Home." It's a shame this album was so largely ignored by radio. It's one of the most played CDs I own.

5.0 out of 5 stars ~Storm In The Heartland~ - The title track is the hit., October 27, 2001

I do not own this album, but I have heard many things that are on it. The title track, "Storm In The Heartland", should have been a much bigger hit. It is one of my favorite songs of all time. Another one of my favorite songs of all time, "One Last Thrill" is on this album too. I find this album to be some-what similar to "It Won't Be The Last", which is a good thing in my opinion. I sure do like Billy Ray's music. He is a super guy too. Get this album, because it is extremely rare to find in stores, and because there are many great things on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE MODERN COUNTRY CLASSICS..., September 20, 2003

This review is from: Storm in the Heartland (Audio CD)
This album is unbelievable...and really showcases how talented him and his band SLY DOG are...his vocals and songwritng are great and original...the only influence I think that really stands out in his voice and music is WAYLON JENNINGS...who was a good friend of his! Billy has done things his way since he burst onto the scene and that's the way it should be! It is a shame that he gets overlooked. In 2003 all u heard was how TIM MCGRAW used his band on his latest album and everybody made a big deal about it...well BRC has been doing that for a long time now...sorry TIM! People need to get their heads out of their u know what...and finally give this guy some credit...just listen to I AIN'T EVEN LEFT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, THE PAST AND GERONIMO and see what I mean(hear his outlaw sensabilities)...that is from all the bashing he had been taking up to that point. Pick this one up and his latest TIME FLIES while you are at it!!!
