Super Rock? Achieved., September 23, 2004

Aging doofus rock geek dads now have their very own power trio : the Opal Book Club. I know it sounds facetious, but actually it works. In the editorial descriptor, rthe name Guided By Voices gets dropped, but I'm thinking more Graham Parker -- the lyrics are pointed, the guitar buzzsawing and I even think Graham Parker would be believable exploring the themes here. But enough about Graham: this Opal Book Club is some kind of rock, by gum. Metamorphic? Perhaps. I'm not a geologist, merely an aging doofus rock geek with kids.
