Book Description

Tales of the Wolves
As a wolfwalker, Dion made an ideal border scout. She could experience the woods and mountains through the senses of her companion, the wolf Gray Hishn; even the wild wolves fed her their impressions. And that was how she knew that in the beleaguered lands across the border, something unspeakable was happening. The wolves were fleeing in droves. And those that remained behind had cut Dion off from their packsong. Nothing but their terrible grief and despair leaked through.
Dion knew that time was running out for the people on the other side of the border -- and for wolves everywhere. Her only hope lay with an ancient rite that had remained untested for generations -- the Calling of the wolves!

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

I'm a sucker for wolves. I'm also a sucker for stories about humans who have telepathic relationships with animals (I especially like wolves--did I mention that?). I'd like to do things like climb sheer cliffs and shoot whitewater rapids, but I'm too scared of them. Tara Harper's Tales of the Wolves allows me to experience all of that vicariously. Too bad the wolf part isn't real--I don't think I'd be scared of that. Then again, Tara tells me wolves can be pretty nasty. And they are wild animals, after all. I guess I'll just stick to reading...

5.0 out of 5 stars Storm Runner, January 6, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Storm Runner (Tales of the Wolves) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a great book. I am so astonished that it's not more popular. The descriptions are great and vivid, and they stand out great in my imagination. The story line is romantic, exciting, humorus, audacious, and creative. The characters have great personality, and there is much diversity. The wolves even have neat personalities, and half the time I wish I could be a wolfwalker, too! This is a great read, and I highly reccomend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved the Series, December 4, 2011
This review is from: Storm Runner (Tales of the Wolves) (Mass Market Paperback)
Although this book seemed a bit out of it for the Series. I still liked it.

I have read this series twice now and I'm sure it will be a future read-over. First few books were from a friend at the time, used - and I was hooked. They weren't in order though, and of course I wanted to read the whole series once I started. Took a while back then to get them all, but I have been happy with my choice to get them and keep them even after the friendship with the person who got me hooked ended badly. Good things can come from anywhere.

I was reading this series when I met my Husband. He helped me finish getting them all.
