5.0 out of 5 stars a legendary hybrid album of industrial and early hip hop, April 29, 2008

When I first heard Strap Down part 2 in 1990 I was hooked. This album has continued to stand the test of time as one of my favorite albums. I still find things that I hadn't noticed before after listening to it countless times, and the early rage and blistering dissonance of this album makes it stand out among Meat Beat Manifesto's numerous albums. This is truly a must have that's up there with Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back and Skinny Puppy's Too Dark Park.

4.0 out of 5 stars good for what it is, January 9, 2008

I actually own the original release of this album, so I am not aware of any remastering that Jack Dangers may have done. Now, this is the first release from Meat Beat, however, it is not a true album. What happened was there was a fire in their studio and they had lost everything that they recorded. They still had a deadline to make so what they did was take four of their best songs and basically did a remix album with them. This is a good album for what they had to work with. This definitly shows the raw talent they have. Meat Beat is one of my favorite industrial groups because of their innovation and fusion of musical genres. This is a great start for those who are interested in getting into MBM or for those who are interested in where they started.
