3.0 out of 5 stars Mildly entertaining -
I had to backtrack and check to see if this was the same Linda Hall that wrote the Teri Blake-Addison mysteries. They were treasures. This was mildly entertaining. The story itself was great, but the writing was a bit juvenile for such an accomplished author. I was disappointed - an interesting read, but not a keeper in my book.

Linda Hall is a really good writer. Several of her stories are done on the coast of Maine - a very pretty pine tree state.

Legend has it that the ghost of Molly haunts Trail's End, the lodge that now belongs to Nori. A few teens are rumored to have disappeared from there over a year ago and folks are still talking about it. Strange things happen at the lodge or could it be that Nori is overtired or has too much on her mind? Perhaps someone or something is trying to scare her off.

Instead of getting to know her a bit, Steve becomes too concerned for Nori rather soon after meeting her. I thought the story was pretty good; a little corny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Storm Warning is Linda Hall's first book in her Whisper Lake series and I can't wait for book two., February 1, 2010
This review is from: Storm Warning (Love Inspired Suspense) (Mass Market Paperback)
After purchasing Trail's End, a lodge with cabins on Whisper Lake Nori Edwards moves to the property hoping for a chance to start over. Her first task is to renovate the dilapidated lodge and to do so, she hires handyman Steve Baylor. Though he is not what he seems. Neither is the lodge.

Nori soon learns her property is considered cursed by the locals due to strange incidents from the past, including the disappearance of two teenagers. When strange things start happening to Nori, and she is warned to leave Trail's End, Steve, an ex-member of an elite military corps, vows to protect her from the danger that seems to surround her.

Storm Warning is Linda Hall's first book in her Whisper Lake series and I can't wait for book two. Hall can always be counted on to provide a book with rich characters who are multi-dimensional and a strong plot to carry the story, guaranteeing you will not want to put down her books until you finish them. She provides vivid descriptions that make the scenes come alive. Combine that with mystery in Storm Warning and that means a hair-raising setting. Even the name Whisper Lake adds to the suspense. So please do yourself a favor and pick up Storm Warning today. You'll be very glad you did.
