Hats off,
By roy mcroberts (Bloomington, IN, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Storm Warning: The Coming Persecution of Christians and Traditionalists in America (Paperback)
My hat is off to the author. Those in the know will read this and understand the truth in what the author says. He is right on the money about the way the govt, UN, and others are trying to take our children away. The only detraction is the fact that we did not experience a y2k meltdown. That aside, we very well may see the financial crisis and terroristic crisis that will help bring out martial law in this country. Those in the dark do not see us already heading for his predicted police state. It's obvious the author has done much research and his facts are substansiated by many references. This book is a must read for anyone who has open eyes to whats going on around us now. We are headlong into christianity being an evil in this country as percieved by the govt. Our govt is far more intrusive than most of us realize.

Though this was written years ago, it still holds true - even more -today. We can see the storm on the horizon and it's moving closer and closer. This book just puts it all into prospective.

Grossly self serving and incredibly inaccurate,

This review is from: Storm Warning: The Coming Persecution of Christians and Traditionalists in America (Paperback)
McAlvany is one more author in a long line of writers who pen books in the tradition of cataclysmic warnings to Christians. These books used to sell well, especially just before the year 2000. McAlvany's book blurb says that Christians and traditionalists are unaware of this pending disaster "as if a blindfold of deception, confusion, and delusion" were over their eyes. He left out "self-deception, corruption, worldly thinking, and reliance upon political clout rather than God." All any reader has to do is read broadly about the ruined lives and destroyed faiths coming out of the Religious Right to realize that a good house cleaning is what it needs. The greatest persecutor of Christians today is already here, and it is the power seeking Religious Right that covers its own gross sins with a veneer of respectability. McAlvany's one-sided and alarmist book, though well written, is one more drink of anodyne for a now corrupt religion that insists upon creating and depicting enemies without, while its worst enemies are within.

Ho Hum Another Disaster Salesman,
By A Customer
This review is from: Storm Warning: The Coming Persecution of Christians and Traditionalists in America (Paperback)
Some of McAlvany's points are right on target. He's also a fairly good writer whose prose is similar to that of a daily newspaper (e.g. easy to read). The theories and ideas that mushroom out of the few facts he has though, are either alarmist or self-serving. He completely ignores the fact that the biggest threat to Christianity, are Christians themselves. He seems to think there's an athiest/secular agenda in the U.S. Gov't that is out to destroy the Christian Mainstream. And some of his complaints can indeed have kernals of validity, particularly in the courts and agencies... but he whitewashes the fact that these courts and agencies are stacked with people who were put there by guess who? Christians in Congress! Who were elected by Christian voters. (Generally speaking of course). My editorial point here is just an example of the holes in his theories. And one wonders if he truly believes the stuff he says... or if he's just trying to sell more gold and disaster preperation kits. If you're looking for visionary writing... try Terence McKenna or at the very least Art Bell/Whitley Strieber.
