I was very impressed when this series first started playing on Animal Planet. I remember wishing so much that these guys were in my own state, Louisiana. Thanks to the stupidity of some in California, they are now here! Louisiana is one of if not the worst places for pit bulls. The cruel practice of dog fighting is a serious problem here. Another huge problem is our incarceration rate. The wonderful Miss Tia and her family have taken on these two problems. California's loss is our gain! As Tia would say, "Pit bulls are the most misunderstood breed." I agree with her statement, and I also agree that many people who have been incarcerated are also misunderstood. This animal rescue group gives a second chance to some wonderful animals. Many of the parolees who are hired there are also wonderful after they are given the chance to make up for their past mistakes in life. Prepare to have your negative thoughts fly out the window when you see what can be accomplished with love, hope and loving licks in the face from a pit bull. These guys are my new heroes.

These two subjects-the plight of helpless homeless/abused animals, and the fall-out from the criminal "justice" system-are two of my own passions, and this show makes you think, feel, care, and learn about both. Every week I find myself laughing, crying-and being ashamed about my own prejudices and ignorance about pit bulls-me, an animal lover who considered them "less-than" before P&P opened my eyes. This show keeps getting better, as they demonstrate struggles of both dog and human to overcome often atrocious pasts and to better themselves-with a bit of gentle well-placed guidance. They are so real, not preachy or self-righteous.

Speaking of self-righteous...when I watched the Tehachapi "town meeting" last season, I was sickened by the ignorance and mob mentality and pure bullying of the Tehachapi kangaroo court. The "code enforcement" issues that subsequently crept up in her former location when she tried to make the best of things in the old place made it seem like not only could she not move forward but not even retreat back. Then she picks herself up, dusts herself off, and realizes that she is meant to go where the need is greater, where she will be appreciated and not hassled with "code enforcements" etc. The move to New Orleans demonstrates that their caring, passion, and strong willing spirit as a team determined to make a difference is still very much alive!

Tia and her extended family are living the dream-doing what makes their hearts truly sing-it just doesn't get any better than that.

Such a wonderful show and great group of dogs and people. A must see for not only dog/pitbull lovers, but also for anyone who cares about the well-being of animals.

I have rescued a pit bull myself after being a fan of this show and how they show how loving and compassionate the dogs truly are... Hulu does not offer this show, so thank goodness Amazon has it.

Thank goodness for these women! They are so compassionate and caring and will do anything that they can to save a pit bull. I'm so glad they found a new home and it was heart warming to see the nice reception they have received in New Orleans. Save a dog, don't shop, adopt! Even the best bred dog can end up at the pound on death row. I sure hope Tia's mission of not having to keep rescuing eventually comes true, but sadly not likely in her or my life time. People just don't get it...whether you like pit bulls or not, think about adopting a rescue dog of some kind vs. buying from a puppy mill/pet shop or breeder. A pit bull or mix is likely to be the best dog you have ever come to know and they will be incredibly devoted and loving. My rescue reminds me every waking moment what unconditional love and appreciation is all about. Watch this show to see what's it is all about, the rescuing and care of neglected and abandoned dogs will surely be touching.

I started watching this show through Netflix, and got hooked. These people do such amazing things for dogs and really go out on a limb to help others. They do an excellent job of showing how sweet and amazingly forgiving pit bulls are. If you're a dog lover and you like (mostly) happy endings, then this is a show for you.
