5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating! Our Whole Family Loved It! August 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book did a wonderful job of explaining the mystery and magic that is weather! Living in CA, luckily we have never had to suffer through many of the kinds of storms this book describes. I can remember my grandmother telling us about tornadoes back in the Midwest and of course the news is full of horrific stories about mother nature in action. The kids were fascinated by the pictures in this book and it's been a great topic of discussion for the whole family!

5.0 out of 5 stars great pictures and well worded facts August 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved the pictures in this title and so did all of my children. They aren't big on the facts yet, but this will be a good book to revisit during our next thunderstorm, so it can be a learning experience engaging more of their senses.

I chose this rating because this author wrote this book as if he was talking to an actual kid instead of making it incomprehensible.

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked all the cool facts about storms. It was interesting to learn how the different kinds of storms are formed and the impact each one has on the environment and people. The pictures were really amazing too! It's not very often you get to see a satellite view of a cyclone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting book indeed August 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a fantastic book about storms. Growing up I used to love the electrical thunderstorms that we experienced in the summer afternoons. This book covers it all - how those thunderstorms are formed and of course the devastating extremes in the world today.

Very informative with lots of illustrations throughout. Easy reading and easy to understand. A great book!

This book does a good job balancing facts about weather conditions with fairly simple language. Sometimes it gets a little wordy, but overall it is very good.
