Book Description

Schoolteacher Harriet Stanton has always believed in happily ever after. Only, the one she thinks she wants forever with is newly married…just not to her. But when a mysterious stranger rescues Harriet from an accident, she discovers heroes can be found in the most unlikely places…

Newspaper reporter Anthony “Ant” Gordon is a man on a mission. He’s determined to find the man who murdered his sister and kidnapped his young nephew, David. The one thing that almost stops him in his tracks? Saving lovely Harriet from a dangerous encounter. Harriet insists on repaying Ant by helping David recover from his ordeal. And David’s not the only one enchanted by the patient teacher…Ant has resolved to keep his eyes firmly focused on his business—and firmly off the woman hired to help his nephew. But now, with their lives suddenly on the line, they must decide whether to risk their hearts too.

In New York Times bestseller Stormy Montana Sky, Debra Holland returns to the beloved small town of Sweetwater Springs, where love can heal the most wounded of hearts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Series! January 19, 2012
By BevPet
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another enjoyable read of a Montana town that is starting to feel like home. The Falabellas are back along with the school teacher and other good and not-so-good townsfolk. The hero, Ant, is new and I think he's my favorite guy so far. His motives are a little darker and his actions a bit edgier. Even the way he looks at the other women is very realistic--I like him! Loved the line where mule thieves don't get hung, only horse thieves. This is a lovely series, reminding me of Little House On The Prairie. The hardships, the politics, the romance; it's all here.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful story January 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the third book in the Montana Sky Series
True to form, this book was a delightful romantic journey into the lives of people living in Montana in the 1800's. Debra Holland continues her saga involving the various people from the Montana Sky Series. She skillfully introduces us to two new characters, Harriet Stanton and Ant Gordon. The story line and subsequent romance carries the reader into the lives and time of that era. You immediately become emotionally involved with the search for a deeply troubled uncle, a missing nephew, a killer, and a spinster "school teacher." They are subjected to the limited small-town politics, gossip and hardships of the time.
The story keeps the reader turning the pages anticipating the next event. It is an easy read and thoroughly enjoyable. I look forward to reading future books by Debra Holland. My husband also enjoyed reading this series.

2.0 out of 5 stars Where is the romance? October 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Is the author not feeling the love? Cause I sure don't feel it. You got a schoolmarm who is rescued by a dark 6'5" stranger. Their first meeting set my heart to pitter-pattering. That was the LAST time I felt any love between them. There was no sex scene, fine, not every book needs one, but there was a peck or two here and there, and I mean peck early on in the book. The rest of the book? NOTHING!! No passion, no kiss, no dance together, NOTHING!! This was a total fail in the romance department.

3.0 out of 5 stars An okay--but not great--story February 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read the first two books in the series before this third one, and all of them have been fairly entertaining and all had potentially good storylines. I think they could have been better, though, if there hadn't been so many stereotypical characters and if the stories had been a little better developed. I realize this is not a big deal to some people, but (and I have said this in other reviews) the book needs editing. I don't know if it is self-published or not, but in any case there are just too many mistakes, and to this reader those mistakes are distracting. There were many misused apostrophes and commas and spelling mistakes. The author continually used mantle instead of mantel, when referring to the mantel over a fireplace; especially in the early part of the book, she often referred to Ant Gordon's gravely voice when she clearly meant gravelly. But for me the worst thing--the thing that makes it hard to take the story seriously--is the main character's name. Ant as a nickname for Anthony? (I get that he was given that nickname in college as a joke about his size, but since Tony is a perfectly good nickname for Anthony and is the one most often used, why wouldn't he adopt that after college? Or just call himself Anthony?) Hearing him referred to as "Uncle Ant" (Uncle Aunt?) was just too ludicrous. How could you seriously call someone Ant? Picky? Maybe, but for me it detracted from the quality of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and Better January 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My wife enjoyed the first two books in the Montana Sky Series, so I thought I'd give them a shot. The characters were rich and well developed. With Stormy Montana Sky, Debra Holland keeps getting better. Rich western details and the positive way her characters deal with grief, particularly Ant in this book, make the books fun to read. Looking forward to #4.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good book to read while waiting. March 19, 2014
By Kim
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this book while waiting at the hospital. The problem I had with this book was the editing. Things like eye coloring not being the same for a person, miss spelled words, etc. I appreciated that there was no sex in this book, but there wasn't even a real kiss until the every end of the book. There was a peck or two in the book. The author needs to put some romance into her stories. This was my favorite of the series.

More About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Debra Holland wears several hats when it comes to writing. As a psychotherapist, she writes nonfiction books. The Essential Guide to Grief and Grieving is her first nonfiction book. More nonfiction books about grieving, boundary setting with difficult people, and relationships, are forthcoming.

Debra also writes fiction--Historial Western Romance, Contemporary Romance, Fantasy Romance, and Science Fiction. Her Montana Sky series, sweet historical Western romances, is published by Amazon Montlake. The Gods' Dream Trilogy (fantasy romance) is available on Kindle.

The common publishing philosophy is that an author should take different pen names for different kinds of book or "the reader will be confused." Debra thinks her readers are smart enough to distinguish between her various books. Thus, she's publishing everything under her own name.

Debra lives in Southern California and has one dogs and two cats. She's a second degree blackbelt and teaches martial arts. She also is a corporate crisis/grief counselor. You can join her newsletter subscription list or learn more about her at
