5.0 out of 5 stars This year's "sleeper"?
I happened upon this incredible book and feel, considering what we are all going through after September 11, there could not be a more poignant take on the story of Noah's ark. Do we ever talk about how all those animals got along when we recount this classic tale to our children? This gem gives in refreshing verse one possible scenario and provides comfort and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Contrary to Bible
The book is immediately contrary to the Biblical account with its first sentence: "When Noah heard the rains begin He built an ark... " The Bible says Noah and crew began boarding the ark 7 days before the waters came. With the author's alteration, she removes one of the key aspects of the Flood account, ie, Noah's obedience to the radical revelation from God.

Do we ever talk about how all those animals got along when we recount this classic tale to our children? This gem gives in refreshing verse one possible scenario and provides comfort and inspiration for parents also. This book should be winning awards!

5.0 out of 5 stars A hilarious rollicking rhyme reinforces the events, December 15, 2001
This review is from: A Stormy Ride on Noah's Ark (Hardcover)
Patricia Hooper's A Stormy Ride On Noah's Ark is a recommended pick for any searching for a different picturebook option for holiday reading. How did the animals in Noah's ark get along during the long voyage? This tells of the animals who face sharing under tight conditions - and a hilarious rollicking rhyme reinforces the events.
