Book Description

Bedtime can be a sacred time of day, when the bumps and bruises of the day past are soothed away. Bedtime stories are extremely comforting and reassuring to children and relaxing for parents. Every evening I snuggle my daughters close, one on either side. We leave our troubles behind and enter the world of make-believe through the children’s stories we share.

Making choices can be stressful for small children, who will relate to this delightful story of a man who plays it safe. He carefully keeps everything in his life the same, from the colors he chooses to the clothes he wears, to the way he spends his time. Slowly the man learns how wonderful it is to make new choices, each new choice taking him from safety and boredom to variety and joy.

Charmingly illustrated by Karen Dishaw, The story about the most boring man in the world is a bedtime story gift from our family to yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thinking out of the box. June 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Sometimes we all get stuck in boring. This is a cute introduction for kids to add variety in their lives. After reading the story, if a child were to ask for crayons and paints of all colors to create a work of art, then the book would be deemed a success.

I think it's a daytime story rather than a bedtime story. Either way, it serves as a great lesson for kids to think out of the box.

5.0 out of 5 stars The kids loved it! February 8, 2013
By Angel
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I downloaded this eBook today, with the intention of reading it to the kids at bedtime -- Well, when they saw that I was getting a kids book they wanted to hear it right away! My son, who is 5, really enjoyed the story. It was especially great for him because green is his favorite color! My daughter who's 16 months old liked the pictures, especially the one of the butterfly. Today is a cold snowy day here in New England, and we are going to be stuck inside all day. I'm really glad that we ordered this eBook, because not only did we get to read and enjoy the book, now we also get to get out the crayons and try and draw the green man and butterfly! Excellent choice of book, I definitely recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Coincidences! August 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Einat and Moty Altman create a bedtime story that Dad tells Allie about the most boring man in the world and Allie decides to paint it as he tells it. The boring man lives in a boring grey and beige town, did the same thing every morning (put on a boring green shirt and trousers, sat in his green kitchen eating a green breakfast, painted at is table using only green paint), and spent the afternoon playing one note on the piano. UNTIL one day a colorful butterfly lands on his nose, left colorful footprints on his painting and flew away. The result of this little intrusion is the boring man discovering other colors and adding them to his painting, trying different notes on the piano, and buying a new wardrobe of colorful clothes. Delighted with his changes he treats himself to a multicolored and flavored ice cream cone. On a walk he meets a beautiful woman who was wearing clothes with all the colors on the butterfly. The man takes her for ice cream and what flavor does she order? Green pistachio! Discovering each other's differences makes them both very happy - and Allie has colored every thing her Dad had read to her!

The story is delightful on many levels, the illustrations are excellent, and the little secret at the end about the author's daughter is a charmer. Comes with a free video gift. This is a sure hit for small children! Grady Harp. August 13

5.0 out of 5 stars A real treat! February 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I sat down with my nephew and read him this adorable story about the most boring, green-clad wearing man in the world, and he loved it so much I had to read it to him three more times! The illustrations were beautiful! I especially liked the one with the butterfly, while my nephew's favorite was the one of the man and his delicious looking ice cream cone. It's got a great lesson about staying true to yourself, while trying new things. This story is a real treat!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book! February 8, 2013
By Mark
Format:Kindle Edition
This book made my 4 year old very happy. He also doesn't like to go to bed. I imagine we'll be reading this one again & again. It was adorable and well written. He wished that it was a little longer, but then all kids will delay going to bed! This book offers everything a children's book needs to be. My kids are all very interested in reading just as much as I am and they fell in love with this book the first time we read it together. Now they want to read it every night. Great book, highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky Bedtime Read February 8, 2013
By Hayley
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Aimed at children this colourful narrative is all about the "most boring man in the world." On one level it can also be interpreted as a symbolic allegory about the power of love and the beauty of nature . Each chapter is illustrated and there is a bonus home made pic the author has shared with readers to inspire and encourage children to draw and paint . Delightfully whimsical and perfect for night time reading .

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and magic. February 13, 2013
By Daniel
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I just looked in on my youngest and in his sleep he was mumbling red and yellow and orange and green pineapple. OK i do not know what pineapple has to do with colors but he does. This wonderful and engaging book was so perfect for our bedtime story's. Even the older one who has declared himself beyond such things loved it and was intent on the story. For me it was a true and priceless treasure as i got out of the hospital late today and my time is limited. To the author and illustrator you have given a valuable gift of priceless treasure to all of us. You are helping my kids to become self actualized people. My wife read this ahead of time and we both teared up a bit with anticipation. So our kindest and sincerest thank you. And now i am off to load this to the children's kindles. What a rare and unusual gift you have please let me know when you release any book. A happy parent.

I started collecting children's books years before my daughter was born. She's grown now, and I'm still collecting. This story (The Story about the Most Boring Man in the World) will be among the ones I share with my first grandchild.
