Review

General Aviation News, July 2006
The Story of the Boeing Company is a massive book, nearly a foot square and weighing an impressive four pounds, which tells the story not only of Boeing itself, but of the many other firms that have combined to become the world’s largest aerospace company. Its 35 chapters are supplemented by helpful boxes, which provide details of each airplane and, in most cases, production figures. Best of all, however, is the treasure trove of photographs and drawings illustrating the generous text. For readers who can’t get enough of the great Boeing 314 Clippers, the elegant Model 307 Stratoliner and the company’s iconic B017 Flying Fortress, this book comes close to satisfying…Author Yenne is a Boeing enthusiast who assures us that the legacy of the past lives on at today’s company. ‘The pioneering spirit that built the companies that now are part of Boeing is still alive and well,’ he states. That’s Boeing, and that’s the ultimate message of this fine book.”
--This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This is a very thorough and accurate look at the Boeing organization. It is a must read for those at all interested in the history of this ground breaking company. My Great Uncle was Bill Boeings private pilot for a number of years so I was extremely interested in learning more. You'd think that there would be more book about Bill Boeing and his company or that more would be taught in the Schools.

This book is an excellent resource and informative read of the Boeing Aircraft Company. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The book begins with the start of the company through today. There are ample photo's of all the aircraft manufactured by Boeing.

This is a must have for any Boeing and/or aviation enthusiast. The Story of the Boeing Company is loaded with pictures and it sets readers through each plane that was built and developed from the founding in 1916 through acquisitions to present day.
