During the days of Augustus Caesar, when Herod reigned in Jerusalem, a group of wise men from an ancient priesthood of the Magi explored the secrets of the heavens together. So it was that Artaban and three companions began a quest to follow a great star that would lead them to the birthplace of the promised Prince. Three of the wise men found the Prince, but what happened to the fourth wise man and the treasures he carried? Was this a great opportunity or the last temptation? Or is it as the author, Henry van Dyke, says, "There are some kinds of failure that are better than success."
