My family came to Helen in the 1930s to mine gold, long before the road was paved and Helen became a popular resort town. Like most miners, they found little gold, but the family has been there ever since. As one long-time resident recently said of Helen, "you know, this has been an interesting place!". It has been, and I've tried to provide an inside look at some of the color and history which make the place special.

Beautiful and informative book on Helen Georgia. The pictures are excellent too - just wish they were in color and not black and white.
