Comprehensive history of company & technologies it pioneered,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Story of Kodak (Hardcover)
This volume exhaustively recounts the history of "Kodak" cameras and films with an emphasis on Kodak's corporate personalities, photographic innovations and technologies. Throughout, the technical and corporate details are well supplimented by a large number of photographic prints - illustrating the fruits of the company's endeavors. The large "art book" format allows presentation of these historic photographs in appropriate sizes, and Abrams' fine paper does justice to the art. Overall, a very successful work.Criticism: Although numerous Kodak cameras are illustrated in the book, camera collectors will need to look elsewhere for a really complete and ordered guide to Kodak's many offerings through the years. This work was not intended to simply catalog Kodak's products.

This review is from: The Story of Kodak (Hardcover)
This is a coffee table book on the history of KODAK. The text is good, but the photographs are worth the price of admission. The text covers both the people involved, and the processes as they were invented. The cameras are well documented, but the historical photographs of the era take center stage. There are also photos of the people setting up their shots. The text does not read like a KODAK press release - and is balanced in tone. Excellent large-format book.
