This Special Edition Story Reader set, designed for children ages three and older, includes a Story Reader console, a Beauty and the Beast storybook and cartridge, and a musical jewelry box. The Story Reader console is powered by 4 AAA alkaline batteries (not included in this set) and features an A/C power jack, headphone jack, and microphone jack.
Your child can read and listen to a classic Disney story while developing reading skills. Beauty and the Beast tells the story of the beautiful Belle, who must stay at the Beast's castle in exchange for her father's freedom. At first the Beast terrifies Belle, but she soon learns his secret and his true identity.
The musical jewelry box plays "Au Clair de la Lune" and comes with three replaceable long-life AG-13 button cell batteries.
Story Reader brings children's favorite stories to life. Insert the cartridge and place the storybook into the Story Reader console, and turn the pages to read along. A narrator reads the book as each page is turned, while Story Reader adds sound effects and music. Children follow along as the words flow from their Story Reader.
The Story Reader Special Edition Disney Princess Set with a Musical Jewelry Box conforms to the safety requirements of ASTM F963-07, EN71, and the safety requirements of Canadian Hazardous Products (Toys) Regulations.

The story reader works great but we were disapointed that the music box did not play and since this model of reader is no longer manufactured, did not want to return it.

This was a gift for my 3 year old daughter. She has the 'my first story reader' but I thought this would be better for her and yes I was correct. She really likes to sit and listen tot he stories being read to her, especailly the beauty and the beast that came with it and tinkerbell and fairies that I bought for her. The added bonus to this story reader was the princess jewelry box that came with it....she keeps all of her 'special' stuff in it!!
