This is the best Wizard of Oz CD that I have ever heard. It is true stereo sound and has wonderful dialogue along with all of the songs in the movie. It was amazing when I was listening to it through my headphones. I had a really great time listening to it. I am the biggest Wizard of Oz fan of all time and if you like the movie than you will love this CD. I encourgage everyone to purchase this CD. It was a wonderful pop-up picture of all four main characters in front of Emerald City. It defies all other Wizard of Oz soundtracks!

This is one of two OZ Soundtrack CD'S. This one features the songs and a large portion of the dialogue from the cherished movie. The sound quality is crisp and clear, with an exquistely beautiful picture of Judy Garland asleep in the Poppies on the CD itself. The compact, Pop-Up Packaging Design is just so cool it defies description. The beloved cast is all here: Judy Garland, Bert Lahr, etc. and Margaret Hamilton's whoopingly wild dual roles as Miss Gultch and The Wicked Witch. Forget about the kids...this is the ultimate "Party Soundtrack" for ADULTS who can fully appreciate what OZ is REALLY all about.

This is truly the best CD of Oz that I have ever heard! It has every piece of music included in the movie. It has outtakes like "the jitterbug", extended versions of songs, alternate versions, rehearsals, and excellent recorded quality. It is every Oz lovers dream!

I was amazed when I listened to this cd through headphones. It's
a real treat to finally hear this material in true stereo! "If I
Only Had A Brain" was featured in true stereo on the Oz 50th
anniversary bonus video that came in the boxed set but there
was talking over the intro. You may also want to check out
Rhino's childrens edition Oz cd. It has versions of some of
the songs that are alternate takes including "If I Were King
Of The Forrest" with alternate lyrics! Rhino's 2 cd Oz boxed
set is also a must-own. The Wizard Of Oz is the greatest film
ever made and will be enjoyed by generations of children and
adults alike. buy this cd today, you won't be sorry! The
open out packaging is cool as is the full color picture cd
inside with Dorothy asleep in the poppy field. With all of
the troubles in the world today this cd (and movie) is a
great and happy escape.

I am a very avid fan of The Wizard of Oz 1939 movie, and this is one of the best recordings there is out there. This is the first soundtrack recording of the movie in 60 years, to have the movie presented in stereo sound. The soundtrack has also been digitally remastered, so the movie almost sounds like it did when it was brand new, except now it is in stereo sound. This soundtrack also has an extended recording of If I Only Had A Brain. The case that the CD comes in is very beautifully designed with a pop-up scene of the four major characters in front of the emerald city. This CD is an overall great buy for your money.

This amazing soundtrack accomplishes something I don't think I've seen on any other soundtrack album; that is, mixing the entire musical soundtrack with the dialog of the film. In all the years I have enjoyed watched The Wizard of Oz, I never before owned a soundtrack recording. This was a great addition to my collection, in that I can enjoy the music and the dialog in my cd player. I believe this CD is essential for all fans of the film.

This is so good! I can listen to the Wizard of Oz in the car and sing and smile and laugh. It makes other cars around me wonder what is wrong with me, but I don't care! This CD is so wonderful and I recommend to young and old alike!

This cd is perfect for those long car rides in which you are bored out of your mind and are sick of listening to your typical musical cd's. The clarity is outstanding!! I wouldn't have thought it possible, being such an old movie.

The only downside I have is that important aspects of the movie are missing, such as when Dorothy falls into the pigsty, Dorothy's encounter with Professor Marvel, the apple tree scene, the poppy field scene, and scenes from the forest before the Witch's castle. I realize this is necessary as the entire dialogue will not fit onto a standard cd, but I thought perhaps the editing could have been better to at least get portions of these parts onto the disc.

Regardless, it still is a whirlwind of fun for all ages (no pun intended). It always puts a smile on my face.

This special edition has not only the songs, but quite a bit of dialog..it's almost like listening to the whole movie. I love it!!!

I loved this album except for the editing of some of the most pivotal scenes in the film (i.e. Prof. Marvel doesn't even make an appearance until the final track). All the songs are here however including Ray Bolger's extended version of "If I Only Had a Brain". "The Jitterbug"--the famous deleted scene is not however--but it is on the other two Rhino-released albums of "Oz". The packaging is a real plus with a great pop-up of Dorothy and friends on the yellow brick road with the Emerald city looming in the background. All editing aside however, this is a lot of fun to play over and over again--whether you have kids or you're just an avid "Oz" fan.
