Outstanding collection -- great fun,
By Glenn Johnson-Grau (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Story That Crow Told Me 2 (Audio CD)
Both this and volume one of The Story That the Crow Told Me are terrific. They are highly recommended for anyone who likes traditional American music, particularly anyone who wants to introduce this music to children. I bought them when my daughter was six and she still enjoys them now at eleven.
This is not homogenized "children's music." These are adult musicians singing vibrant music to their friends and families about their everyday rural life. The songs are funny, sly, clever, poignant, and boisterous by turns. While volume one is a bit stronger on the whole, some of our favorite tunes are on volume two. Great stuff.
