Toy Story 3 Hot Wheels Speedin Stretch Mattel

Speedin' Stretch is quite a cool looking representation of an octopus (or squid even) on wheels. With the tentacles, and octopus looking head, the vehicle does look quite good as a representation for any sea creature fan. If this was part of the cheap priced mass produced lines it would be brilliant. However as a vehicle that retailed for five or six times the price of your standard mass produced hot wheels line, and was supposed to represent the toy octopus that was in a few minor scenes in Toy Story 3 it could have been better. The eyes on the car are huge and black, whereas the cartoon character had small white eyes. The car's eyes are also more realistic on the side of the head, as the actual sea creature would have, which is great for a representation of actual Octopus, but for the character representation it should have had small round white eyes positioned human style at the front of its face. The deep solid purple colour also isn't representative of the much lighter transparent character's body. Hot wheels has made transparent vehicles before so for the price these things were sold at, this should have been done. The purple colour is however better than the blue colour the prototype on the back of the packaging was originally. It's not a bad piece to add to any die-cast vehicle collection but it could have been so much better.

Best of the eight Toy Story 3 vehicles would be between Rex Rider and Wheelin Woody. Hamm on Wheels, and Lotso Speed are also very good.
