Storyteller,
This review is from: Storyteller (Unbound)
I have asked myself while writing this book, "Why am I so interested in storytelling?" I don't tell stories particularly well. I'm stiff and awkward when dancing. My singing and playing are, at best, adequate. Puppets move clumsily for me. (I do put together quite good flannel board stories!) But, for me, it isn't the performance that counts. I'm not interested in applause and showing off and all that. What I am interested in is the magic that happens in a group during the sharing....
In the pages that follow, I've tried to share some of the joy my friends and I have found in storytelling.....That's really what this book is about. What you'll find here is a discription of our doing storytelling - the making of an illuminated perception or an awkward sound, and of enjoying the experience with others. --- excerpts from book's Preface |
