too good for america,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Storyteller (Audio CD)
america will only play you if you're white or black, but my fellow brown peeps are overlooked and it's a damn shame. Raghav has a great voice(must be from working with michael jackson's vocal coach seth riggs) and sings over r&b, hip hop, bhangra and dance music. I feel bad I didn't get to catch his concert like relatives did but there will be a next time cause this dude is here to stay and he'll keep on going and eventually get his due in the mainstream

Raghav is something. He is truly a great singer and his tracks are awesome. His songs appeal to all ages and races. He's gonna be around for a while and is gonna get even bigger.

Out of all the Indian singers (Jay Sean, Rishi Rish, etc), I have to say that Raghav has the most unique sound and music. I would recommend this CD to anyone who wants to hear GOOD music. There are a few tracks on this CD that are not that great, however majority of the tracks will make you want to get off the couch and start dancing!!

The same old stuff,

I can see young girls liking this album because of the faux-Backstreet Boys sound. I liked a few of the tracks, mostly the ones with the Indian-infused sound, but the rest of the tracks sound like poor Craig David rip-offs

Fantastic CD Purchase,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Storyteller (Audio CD)
I recently purchased this CD "Storyteller" via Amazon for my teenage son. This CD far surpassed our expectation (I've just had to hijack it from him to play on my way into work). Raghav is definitely a very talented singer and the quality of this production are of a very high standard. I'm usually a Rihanna, Boyz II Men, Il Divo, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Shaggy fan and now Raghav will be added to my CD collection of favourite music stars. This was definitely a good buy, a bit pricey at $23.00 plus shipping cost to Barbados, but still a good buy!

Nice Intro to the 'Desi Beats',

Thanks to my open mind, I've found out about Raghav via The Panaji Hit Squad on the BBC's 1xtra. Bhangra and the South Asian fusion are something only heard at Bhangra parties, the internet, and your own home in Atlanta, GA. It was a treat to hear `desi beats' mixed with R&B. And Raghav even worked with Bluey of Incognito. Overall, it's a nice CD.

All you need is love,

Absolutely wonderful stuff, truly magical music about true love. And Raghav prooves to be a master lover. Master production by Mushtaq (check out his album with Terry Hall), Sly & Robbie (these pioneers need no introduction I guess) and others. Every song is just GREAT! And the flow is perfect! I listened to this yesterday with a girl with whom I've had hard times in love before and it was deep healing with this music playing. Our love became purified and although I'm not sexually interested about her anymore. And luckily I had just met yesterday a beautiful sweet baby girl to whom I gave a copy of "Storyteller" and an equally great Jay Sean debut cd "Me Against Myself" (produced by mighty Richi Rish... making out with basslines... ooo yeah!).
Big up to Raghav's team and the guys at V2 label who like to put out quality asian stuff like this, Nitin Sawhney and the great double cd compilation by Bobby Friction & Nihal (present). Asian music can become mainstream hit music and that would be quite a stream then! Just love... and meditate at the same time :)

Boy band reject?,

I really wanted to like this cd. I loved the single Can't Get Enough, but unfortunately, that's the strongest track on here. All I could think of when I listened to this cd was how much it sounded like middle of the road NSync/Backstreet Boys pop. Lyrically and musically (for the most part) this is a really weak album. The couple of songs that have an Indian feel to them are pretty cool, but overall this just wasn't worth the money. I'd hold off on buying the full length cd...just buy the single for Can't Get Enough.

I recieved this album as a christmas present- I think it is really really great. I particularly like how some songs start out with indian music and even words, and then Raghav starts singing with his american sounding voice. The melodies are the bomb, and I have not many complaints. There are a few tracks which wern't great, but the number of good tracks easily outweights the few bad ones.

Angel Eyes is great. I first heard it on a trip to Bulgaria and then on another trip to the UK. The music is great. I only wish that it would get some play time in the US.
