This product, has no swivels. It just screws on - but that's the beauty of the thing. It screws on to ANYTHING - rake, shovel, snow shovel, push broom if you want! With its simple (but effective) UI there's few bits to mess up, so you simply have a strong, useful add-on to most any tool about the house!
I then went to Back Saver Grip’s website (www.backsavergrip.com) to see if they had an installation video. While browsing the site, I discovered that contrary to the lifetime warranty statement stated on the brochure / mounting instructions, the website notes the warranty is two years.
I called Back Saver Grip’s customer support number to discuss these issues. I was told that the Back Saver Grips I bought were older models and that’s why I got hex nuts and a star washer instead of wing nuts. As to the discrepancy in warranty terms, I was told that the warranty is now only two years. As to the reason for this change, the representative told me something to the effect that a lifetime warranty was…excessive… or unreasonable… because the grip is exposed to the elements.
Next, I went to Amazon’s site and think about initiating a return based on the above. There is no mention as to mounting hardware or warranty so I’d have no legs to stand on for a return with the third party seller. I call Amazon and explained the situation to Anesha M.Read more ›
Installation is easy. Though, a pair of pliers really helps tighten the wing-properly.
It encourage better posture while shoveling - I find that I use my back less and my arms and legs more when using it. After this most recent storm we had in the Northeast I had about 2 feet of snow to shovel. The next day I experienced no back pain like I often do after shoveling large amounts of snow.
My only complaint is that if you may need to modify your shoveling motion if you tend to twist the shovel as you move snow. I've found that the grip attachment will rotate if that action is used. But overall the product is great. Highly recommended.

I bought this because I saw a commercial for a $70 ergonomic shovel. The idea seemed sound but I already had a very nice shovel. Added this handle and what an amazing difference. Read morePublished 17 hours ago by Glims mom
I put this on my shovel and it did next to nothing. If it had a few inches of stand-off from the shovel it might work but this does not. Read morePublished 1 day ago by TC
This really does help when shoveling snow using a straight handle. It does tend to rotate a bit even when tightened down and using the rubber pad. Read morePublished 1 day ago by GearGuy
Would be better if there was come rubber shock absorber on the grip but it fits the shovels I tried it on quite nicely. Read morePublished 3 days ago by Jim C
I am a big fan of using the large "farmer's scoop" shovel for snow removal. The only downside of that shovel style is that they are not very ergonomic. Read morePublished 3 days ago by Schleppy
