5-6-pound capacity mixed seed multi-side hanging feeder with a crossover hopper and landing deck. This feeder has great style. 11-inch by 12-inch by 18in. Stovall products feature all cedar construction, stainless steel and dichromate plated screws, washers, hooks and chains, hand sanded, assembled with screws, many products coated with wood protector which accents the wood grain and the natural warmth of cedar. Environmentally green practices – hand sorted down graded lumber. The Shop is heated with scrap wood, cooled with natural shade and insulation, nestled in a glen among 25+ acres of beech/maple/oak forest. Rumored staffing of woodland gnomes with a payroll of nuts and berries is still not factual.

If there is such a thing as an heirloom quality bird feeder, this is it. It is beautifully made, sturdy, and ready to hang. Yes, you will pay more for it than you would for the average feeder, but it is so far above average that you will not mind. It would make an excellent gift, too.

First, the construction of this product is actually a little flimsy. It couldn't even survive shipping. The box it arrived was in pristine condition but one of the roof pieces was broken. The wood is cut in such a way that the grain runs perpendicular to the direction which they lift - that is side to side. This means that they break REALLY easily. The grain should run from top to bottom and thereby ensuring that they wouldn't break. However, the genius that came up with the automated cutting process at the factory failed to consider that. That is what happens when you put someone in charge who has no idea what they are actually in charge of. Seems to be typical these days.

Nonetheless, I wouldn't recommend this product. Even if you get one that made it from the factory in one piece, as time goes by the wood will continue to get weaker and will eventually break on its own.

POOR DESIGN. Anyone who has spent any time working with wood understands wood is weak along the same axis as the grain runs. It easily splits and breaks. Very disappointed. This was a Christmas present that instead of being able to enjoy, I have to go stand in line again at the post office for an hour to return it. Are you going to refund me for my gas and time as well Amazon?

I have more than 20 different bird feeders in my backyard purchased in various places. Some were more expensive than I thought they should be. But THIS bird feeder is the best I've ever owned. It's BEAUTIFUL, WELL MADE and will last for years, I think. The only issue I have is that the holes in the bottom used for draining water are a bit too big, which means seed can fall out. An easy fix, though. I highly recommend this feeder either for yourself or an avid bird lover.
