I had the cello bridge cut down by a professional to fit my son's new cello. I used the orgingal bridge on a Crystalcell MC100 and put a more put this cell bridge on the Crystalcello MC200 and the sound was very different. The bridge I had cut down to fit played much better and my son was able to move the bow more easily between the strings. I will most likely buy another another one of this bridges for a spare. The professional called it a 2/4 bridge, meaning it needed to be worked and shaped to the insternment, but the results was totally noticely better in quatility.

I bought this to replace the bridge that came with Cecilio 4/4 CCO-100 Student Cello Outfit with Soft Case, Bow, Rosin, Bridge, Strings and Stand which was too short. We trimmed it down to the proper size and the cello sounds great. Not knowing anymore about cellos than I do, I'd say for the price, you can't lose if you want a DIY cello bridge.

After a broken-bridge incident, I checked the local music stores to see how much a replacement bridge would cost and I was shocked. I figured I could save a couple hundred bucks and try to replace the bridge myself. (I'm hardly a cellist -- I just play around on the instrument now & then.) As one of the other reviewers said, this is meant to be shaped by a professional luthier. It is substantially taller and almost twice as thick as the now-broken-bridge that came with my beginner's cello. This required quite a bit of trimming and shaping to get it to fit on my cello. I used the old bridge as a template, and cut about 1/2" off the top, and sanded the feet, and filed in grooves for the strings.

So it works -- but be prepared to put a little effort into making it workable. I think you need a jigsaw, sandpaper, and a thin file at a minimum to make this bridge functional. I have no idea if I shaped it correctly, but it seems to be working just fine, at least for my purposes. If you're a serious player or student -- but not serious enough to know how to shape your own bridge, you might prefer to skip the do-it-yourself project and just go to a luthier in the first place. But for my purposes, this was fine.

This is my second purchase of this product. One can get similar item cheaper
by ordering overseas, but that will take several weeks, if not more.

The item is laser cut and is accurate and consistent blank/starting piece for
cello bridge. I have wood working background, and enough tools to do set up
cello for players liking. You do need right tools and technique for doing this
properly. Please check youtube for online instruction.

Overall very good quality. The wood itself could be more hardier.

The quality of the wood and the cut itself were surprisingly good. After completely shaping it and sanding it to fit my cello it turned out to be a nice bridge (even though i just have it as a back-up). Excellent price here too.

Just keep in mind you need a variety of tools and a good understanding of how to shape a bridge if you plan to do this yourself.

Product is good. The saler shipped it fast, so we did not wait long to receive it. This is a universal product, so it works well with all cello.

The picture in the preview does not represent the actual product.
The bridge i received was Made in China, not Made in Germany.
Looking at the way mass production is rushed in China, i doubt that this maple wood is properly aged, or if it even is maple wood.
If you are looking for a product that is Made in Germany, this is not it, even though the product picture suggests that!

This bridge was not what I was expecting.....I was wanting an inexpensive replacement bridge for my older cello that I could install myself with minimal adjustments. This was not that product. This bridge is definitely meant to be shaped by a luthier.....which I'm not. It makes a nice tree ornament though.
