If you are the type who likes to dig beneath the surface of popular beliefs regarding vitamin, mineral and natural supplements, this book is for you. While the book does not act as a medical advisor, it does give you honest talk about a select group of popular supplements and what they're really good for (if at all).
Dennis neither hypes nor hates any particular supplement. You just get what's the best available research and indications about eighteen of the most popular supplements taken today - from Black Cohosh to Zinc. Even if you already have an extensive home library on nutritional supplements, you'll find this book a welcome, readable and useful addition.

Dennis has really done his homework for this book. He presents some hard evidence and then backs it up with his own insights. His conversational tone makes this an easy read and the subject matter is on the minds of a growing number of people, making this a very current title. I recommend that if you're health conscious at all, that you get yourself a copy of Mr. Lively's newest. You won't regret it.

If you are into alternative health like I am, then you will find this book full of sparkling insights. This book is concise, to the point, and well researched.
I read many health related books each month, and I have to say I will be referring back to this one time and again. If you want the "Straight Talk" about your health and what you put in your body, then I would recommend purchasing this book.
