Bud has studied the successful for decades and learned first hand the characteristics they all have in common - and he presents them in this book. And in his typical, easy to read, common sense style, he shows you exactly how you can achieve success too.

Don't let the simplicity of the book fool you - the stories he tells will draw you in, but every one of them present a powerful message. Bud is transparent with his own stories of success and disappointment. This book is 'real' and heart-felt - not to be missed.

"Straight Talk for Success" is a great item to hand to a newly minted employee by his or her new boss or a human resources manager. Very little of what it covers is taught by any school and it is a veritable encyclopaedia of things that every working professional should know. Hats off to The Common Sense Guy for a resource that fills a gaping hole.

Bud is generous with his advice, sensitive to the reader's time and highly entertaining.

The writing is straightforward and especially helpful for people entering the workforce.

This is a must read. I'd highly recommend this book.

Listen to Bud's straight talk-it's invaluable and one of the best tools you can have to achieve success.

Straightforward, clear advice on how to advance in life and your career. Reads as if you have your own personal motivator speaking to you and is peppered with entertaining stories to illustrate the link between common sense and success. As a recent college graduate, I found this book incredibly helpful, as I begin my journey into the professional world.

For brand development, we emphasize the need to have a common vocabulary that allows everyone involved to understand and describe success in similar terms. For business development, we emphasize the need for our clients to always provide the deliverables they promise to co-workers, consumers and external business partners. Not surprisingly, therefore, Straight Talk for Success, jumped off the shelf at me! Bud Bilanich has provided both a vocabulary for success and deliverables (action steps) that each of us can practice to achieve success. Bud's experiences cross industries and his writing style is insightful and readily accessible. It is exciting that Bud almost leaves us no option but to be better prepared for success once we read Straight Talk for Success! My suggestion: Give the book to your colleagues and get everyone going in the same direction.

I recently finished reading "Straight Talk for Success". It was very enjoyable. I feel I got a lot of good tips about interaction in the workplace without feeling overwhelmed with information. Bud has a good ability of letting you read a non fiction book with great information in such a format that it is entertaining at the same time. He weaves personal stories into the context that gives it a real feeling that these are tried and true ideas. The book has good information for novices in the workplace as well as old timers like myself. The information can be used in your personal life also. I strongly recommend reading this book to enhance your communication and interpersonal skills as well as realign your goal setting.

What a great book. Bud lives up to his Common Sense brand.

This book is crammed full with many practical ideas and advice. I particularly liked the fact that it was an 'easy' read, whilst at the same time being informative. It seemed effortless to assimilate what was being discussed. There are many tips that I know will prove helpful to me both in the work and home environments.

Definitely worth a read.

This book definitely over delivers on providing answers to all the questions people are affraid or embarassed to ask. Even for those of us that have been in the business world for a while. As I was reading this book, I recalled my first business dinner meeting and not knowing what to do - this book would have been a tremendous aid. I wish this book was a required reading for anyone entering the business world. Mr. Bilanich does an excellent job of not only providing some great business 101 success tips, but does it way that makes it an enjoyable read by providing lots of great stories. The best way to describe this book is the one and only resource for common sense answers to business basics.
