5.0 out of 5 stars Good for what it is
I have always loved MSI. I think that for 7 dollars this is a good cd. Yes its the same sone redone 15 times, but its a good variety. I bought it because they play the Combichrist version at the club I go to. It just so happens that the other versions are just as good. Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars One song. Many remixes, Gets boring soon.
There are two ways that artists go wrong with remixes. One way is when they make remixes that inlvolve a genre that clashes with their own. For instance, Switchblade Symphony's compilation of remixes. And a second way is the case of this series of remixes of Straight to Video. It gets boring very soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Met deal pays off for MSI bigtime!, April 8, 2006
This review is from: Straight to Video (Audio CD)
I'm not an MSI fan.
There, I said it.
This lack of interest notwithstanding, this little EP is f*cking fantastic. Virtually every worthwhile band in the dying American EBM scene puts in its two cents, and to brilliant, variant, and deviant effect.
The opening mix is not soooo fantastic, but by the KMFDM remix, if your New Rock boots aren't stomping at max BPM, Electro must be dead to you. The Assemblage 23 mix is also surpisingly good, the best work Tom Shear has done in years. I never knew he had such remixing talent. But the possible best is the BTM mix, a perfect blend of two fantastic bands, with elements from both equally present. Front 242 also makes a breathtaking contribution, and Haujobb slows it down nicely as only Haujobb can.
Oh, and the lyrics make me giggle uncontrollably on the acapella mix.

4.0 out of 5 stars Goes From Great, To Good, To Ok, May 13, 2007
This review is from: Straight to Video (Audio CD)
That really is all to say here, I think the "Straight to Video" song is great and catchy but the thing is do you really need 17 different versions of the song? I thought that the instrumental and vocal only songs were great and useful and the first 10 tracks were good and different for each, but then it kinda goes down hill to were it sounds like a totally different song for each next remix, even with added vocals on track #14 (Bro Peezy AKA Greg Poole Remix)so if you are really into MSI and there Industrial Jungle Pussy Punk genre then buy this, I mean how can you beat 17 songs for seven dollars!..even if it is the same song lol.

5.0 out of 5 stars For what it is, I like it., March 7, 2006
This review is from: Straight to Video (Audio CD)
It's a 7 dollar cd and thats about all its worth. You get 15 remixes of the same song done by some decent ebm/industrial groups, 1 acapella, and 1 instrumental. This cd didn't break the bank and it's not bad if you enjoy the bands that did the remixes. They didn't have to release the cd whatsoever, if it was over 10 dollars I would have passed but either way I give this a 5/5.

5.0 out of 5 stars It was good...., March 7, 2006

Yeah, some good mixes on here, i prefer the Bro Peezy one, i like the rap thing. The album art features stills from the music video which will be cool when they release that. Good cd overall, worth the money. Worth the wait. Buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars just to help out their rating, March 7, 2006
This review is from: Straight to Video (Audio CD)
I actually like a lot of the remixes on the album better than the original song. I honestly don't like remix albums but hey, I think it's fun stuff. Don't give it a bad rating because you don't like remix albums, you didn't like YRTA, or anything like that...dumbass. Just review it as it is.
