Very helpful, but the laser level.....,

This review is from: Strait-Line 6045704 2-Tool Combo Kit - 6041101 Laser level 120 & 6041501 Stud Finder 150 (Misc.)
The laser level comes with non-reusable 3M Command adhesives. So, if you put it on the wall, and then want to move it a bit, you have to pull the adhesive off the wall and use another one. The set I bought from another store (which also came with a distance measurer) only had 10 adhesives.

...of the level does seem to be to sell 3M Command adhesive strips.
As far as I can tell, the device is passably accurate and throws a good laser line (which looks odd and wrong if projected directly onto a flat surface, but is actually correct for its purpose), but it still doesn't quite without some improvisation do the specific task for which I bought it. The stud finder is compact and well thought-out, particularly with the automatic switch to conserve battery (9V, not included) life, multiple materials settings and integral wall marker. It's as accurate as my older Zircon unit. The scuff pads could be much larger and more durable. Both tools are attractive and highly-visible. The level could be more versatile, but it's adequate for most home users if not for professionals.

Attractive value proposition, questionable performance,

The price was right, but it seems that not a lot of thought went into making the laser level tool.
The laser line is well projected but it's difficult to keep the tool in place once you decide where you want to level things off. The adhesive pads are disposable and if you don't use them this thing will slide off course easily. The bubble level is also questionable. It is awkward to read and I feel that it's off. I've used the stud finder once with some success so it appears to be a bit better performing than the laser level tool. If you purchase, be prepared to spend some time getting used the quirkiness of the laser level.
