Great Concept! Great Writing!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Strange Bedfellows (Paperback)
"Strange Bedfellows" follows a concept that seems to be ripped from the headlines: politics mixed with sex. But you can bet that things were never this hot between Bill and Monica! The authors serve up every variety of erotic writing - straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual - which keeps things interesting. The quality of the writing is consistently excellent; this is not just naughty scribbling, this is literature by real writers! My favorites: Rob Byrnes's "Media Relations," in which a right-wing senator's hypocrisy is hilariously exposed; and Michael Stamp's "Shake Your Money-Maker."

I know these people....,
By Margaret J. Campbell (Durham, NC USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Strange Bedfellows (Paperback)
As the manager of the much mourned and missed erotic writing workshop where this book had its genesis, I can promise that something in this book will appeal to you.The idea behind the book was a writing exercise spawned by our reading of the Starr Report, and our knowledge of other political sex scandals. The more the workshop members invented new political sexual scandals, the better the idea of creating a book from them became. The book covers pretty much all orientations, and all kinks (and yes, vanilla is considered a kink). Some of the stories are wishful thinking, and some seem to be roman a clefs on current politicians. Gay or straight, leather or velvet, Republican or Democrat, this book has something for you. And I am honored to leave this as a memorial for the writers' workshop.

Great collection and not exactly what you might think,
By TammyJo Eckhart "TammyJo Eckhart" (Bloomington, Indiana United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Strange Bedfellows (Paperback)
Hyde contributes two stories and Santi contributes one piece to this collection of thirteen erotic tales that touch on politics in some way. The first half of the collection contains the best pieces of the entire collection with Hyde's contributions being among the very best. All orientations and roles are explored to some extent though the gay politican and the sex for votes ideas are the most common. Not all the stories look at politicans however or look at voters and politicans -- sometimes the politicans are together and sometimes it is only political views and platforms that are touched upon. This collection is a fun read if you don't take it too seriously but you may not want to give it to a very sexually conservative friend.
