This is a must-have book for Chicagoans who entertain those from other cities, and for travelers to read in the car on the way to that beautiful city for vacation. Neat stuff!!

A bazaar of the bizarre of Chicago,
By Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (TOP 100 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Strange But True: Chicago: Tales of the Windy City (Paperback)
This fun little book is a collection of screwy facts, and almost-believable urban myths about the Windy City. From murderers and madams through money-mad socialites, quacks, charlatans and thieves, there are Chicagoans galore, not to mention strange laws (don't take your poodle to the opera in Chicago!) and even stranger facts.
Now, as you might expect, this is something of an oddball trivia book. As a native Chicagoan (OK, Chicagolandian), I enjoyed reading about some events and people that I had thought I had known, and about some events and people I had never heard of. So, if you would like a book that is a bazaar of the bizarre of Chicago, then you will like this book...I know I did!
