Our world is filled with mystery, magic, and the bizarre, making the expression "truth is stranger than fiction" a phrase that everyone knows. In Strange But True, Corrine Kenner and Craig Miller have selected some of the most amazing true stories from the pages of FATE magazine, and presented them in a way that will startle, thrill, and fill you with a sense of wonder about the universe.

When ordinary people experience the extraordinary, it changes them forever. The reports in Strange But True (over 130 of them) document some of these amazing, life-altering events. You'll get every vivid, uncanny detail from actual witnesses about their eerie encounters with the unknown such as:

·Psychic warnings
·Ghosts, apparitions, and other mysterious creatures of the spirit realm
·Miraculous healings and remarkable recoveries
·Incredible coincidences (or are they bursts of synchronicity?)
·Dreams that foretold the future
·Alien encounters
·Terrifying creatures
·UFO contacts
·Cases of reincarnation and visits from the dead
·Guardian angels
·Time travel
·Astounding oracles and weird fortunetellers
·Out-of-body experiences

Each one of the stories in Strange But True is sworn to be a factual event, but each one also goes deeper than the physical shock and surprise of the bizarre. The events in Strange But True changed people's lives. Reading about them may help you find a new direction, a new path, and maybe even new hope for your life, too.

Whether you're a true believer, a doubting debunker, or are somewhere in between, Strange But True will definitely delight and amaze you with the nature of the human spirit and the vast potential of experience we all can have. Strange But True is must reading for everyone.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Corrine Kenner and Craig Miller have collected some of the most amazing stories ever from the pages of FATE magazine, in Strange But True. Here is what they said about it:

"For almost 50 years, FATE has printed stories of paranormal encounters in 'True Mystic Experiences' and 'My proof of survival,' two of FATE's most popular—and enduring—departments. The stories are amazing firsthand accounts, filled with all the details, emotions, and puzzling paranormal mysteries that only actual witnesses can provide. Though readers may find some of the stories in this book hard to believe, they are true. Each of the writers signed a notarized affidavit attesting that their stories happened exactly as they've described them."

"Strange But True poses many of the questions humanity has struggled with through the ages: What happens to us when we die? Can we communicate with the souls of loved ones who have passed on? Are there guardian angels? Can we travel through time?"

Strange But True is one of the most amazing books you will ever read. It shows, by example, that our world is much more than it seems. Just beneath the physical surface is a spiritual world of untold magnificence . . . and sometimes of strange terror. Occasionally, that other world comes into our own.

Discover this crossing in over 130 true experiences and see how it changed lives forever. Get Strange But True.

This was one of the best books I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. The stories were so descriptive it felt like you actually witnessed it. I have always been fascinated with aliens, ghosts, the paranormal and the supernatural. If you are like me then this is definately the book for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Title, January 23, 2000
This review is from: Strange But True: From the Files of FATE Magazine (Paperback)
I'm a skeptic about many things, but some things just can't be explained or ignored. This book grabbed me and made me wonder about some events in my own life that were both profound and beyond explanation. I hope they write a follow-up! Skip Knowles

This review is from: Strange But True (Hardcover)
This is a very well written collection of short stories. Some are haunting while others are inspiring. The stories are from all over the US and are quite varied in content: UFO sightings, premonitions of death, fortune tellers, ghosts, out of body experiences, etc.

I like to save money and rarely purchase books, but highly recommend buying this particular one. It's well worth the $9 and a creepy companion on those dark and stormy nights :)
