IMPRESSIVE...A GREAT CD,
By Nitro Cardno (Earth...somewhere...) - See all my reviews

There is no other way to put it...this is the best soundtrack i have ever listened to. One of the cool aspects in that all the songs (except the Jericho One song and the Lords Of Acid song) appear on the soundtrack in the order the appear in the film...so if you've seen the movie, you go through this cd going "this is when Lenny was watching Faith perform" and "this is where Lenny and Mace kiss at the end" and for a fan of the movie, that is kinda cool. The only flaw of it (that's only worth a mention) is that after you hear Lori Carson's song near the end, you don't want to listen to anything else. It's a great soundtrack to a great film.

Fall in the Light,

This soundtrack doesn't get full marks because it is missing a song or two that would have made it complete. However it does justice to the feel of the movie because of Jerico One and juliette lewis. I have never been so moved by a kiss in a film as i was by the scene that plays "Fall in the Light". When I hear it each time after i am just as moved. This cd helps me to carry that feeling wherever i go.

An excellent CD!,

The movie itself was wonderful, but the "Strange Days" soundtrack deserves special recognition. It's a real gem of an album-- one you simply cannot afford to miss.I really appreciated the variety of this CD, from hard, heavy rap to ambient New Age. Too many soundtracks stick to just one kind of songs. Not this one. There's a little bit of everything, so you're sure to have a favorite even if you don't like some of them. Which brings me to the next point: if you get this CD for no other reason, get it for Lori Carson's "Fall in the Light". It's simply breathtaking, and the lyrics are beautiful. It's probably the best song on the soundtrack, followed closely by Deep Forest's tracks and "Overcome". Juliette Lewis does a great job in "I Can Hardly Wait", as well. Definitely not an album you want to miss, especially if you are a fan of the movie. And even if you aren't, buy this CD anyway. It's one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard.

If you live a narrow-scoped lifestyle, this album isn't for you. If you love only metal, you'll hate this album. If you love only rap, you'll hate this album. If you love only ambience, you'll hate this ablum. Strange Days has a mixture of everything just to [anger] the average listener. You need to be open-minded and accepting of all musical genres in order to appreciate this blend of music. There is no theme. This is no particular style. There is nothing dependable. Get over it and decide if you can appreciate more than one type of music. All entries are equally intruiging, but none are alike. Nothing is great, but nothing is terrible. The angry track by Jeriko One is probably the most intersting piece to this soundtrack, but that is (perhaps) because it plays such a significant role in the film. Deep Forest, Prong and Graeme Revell contribute powerful additions that the top 40 would overlook due to Generation-I-only-listen-to-music-I-can-dance-to exclude themselves to. This soundtrack is more fun than that, yet it deserves only 3 stars considering it does not stand out and say "My God, I HAVE to own that!" Strange Days, however, is a nice addition to any music-[lover's] collection.

This soundtrack is my favorite of all the soundtracks I own. The songs from the film fit hand in hand. There are songs for when you want to be held and kissed to lyrics that make you yell. It is a great cd for all of your moods.

Pre Millenium Music that Suits the 2000s perfectly,

This album merges styles as unlikely as it gets. A lot of press and average people talk about today's band mixing styles, but most of the time all you see is bands doind their regular stuff, but adding a bit of another style (rap + metal, for instance). This is not what this album is about. When I first heard it, I felt like it was something altogether new. Even hard rock songs, like those by Skunk Anansie, carry a very sharp eletronica feel to them. Like someone said, this is indeed futuristic music, but they forgot to say that......the future is now!

listening, to Graeme Revell's music you will find a sadeness and lonely smile on your crying face. But who cares? this CD makes me cry and smile at the same time.

If you are looking for the movie's music, you won't find it here,

Having watched the movie Strange Days, I really was very disappointed that most of the techno, industrial and electronic body music that was found throughout the film was nowhere to be found here. Nothing here has the frenetic pace that the movie boasted.
This is the problem with motion picture soundtracks. Someone, somewhere decides what you will get for a soundtrack to be associated with the film and there will always be something missing.

One of the best movie soundtrack albums ever.,

Many soundtracks just aren't all that interesting when listened to alone. But this one's different. I surprised myself by really liking the angry rap track, essentially by Me Phi Me ("hereWEcome"), but the Kate Gibson rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Dance Me to the End of Love" is also wonderful, although it's an utter contrast to the Me Phi Me track. (NOW I start to understand why some people idolize Cohen!) The following track, written by the film's nominal composer Grame Revell, is also very good. The Deep Forest cuts are great and the one with Peter Gabriel is absolutely mind-blowing. All in all, I'd say only about half the tracks on this CD rise above "good" but those are simply outstanding -- and they'll probably be different for everyone who hears it. Like the movie itself, listening to this soundtrack makes you feel like you've been on one heck of a strange trip.

Great Soundtrack, Proves Juliette is multi talented,

This is my favorite soundtrack ever. I even like the one rap song that is on it. I admittedly bought this because of the track Juliette Lewis covers(doing an extraordinary job might I add.) "Hardly Wait". Which was originally done by another favorite of my, the fabulous, P.J. Harvey. Tricky and Skunk Anansie(a band that has now become one of my favorites) Really give this soundtrack a lot of life. They should really put out a second soundtrack, there were so many good songs in the movie left out, Including Juliettes cover of "Rid Of Me" also a P.J. song. I'd recomend it to any techno, electronica, and deffinetly Juliette lewis fans.
