Book Description

Flo has always had problems. Her stammer prevents her speech and her dad’s abuse makes her life a living hell. Not to mention she sees colours other people don’t.

When her dad decides to ship her off to live with her grandma in the sleepy town of Chesterport, Flo thinks that this is her chance for a better life. But on her very first day at her new school she is ridiculed and laughed at for having a stammer. One student sticks up for her and his name is Frank.

Frank’s body is surrounded by an aura of fire, but Flo is the only one who can see it. He lives in a foster home for troubled teenagers. Flo is drawn to him because he’s different and so is she.

Things are about to get scary, because Chesterport is not your ordinary suburban town. It’s infested by a coven of dark witches who prey on the young and the elderly. Soon Flo discovers that she’s next on their list of victims, and finds herself fighting a battle she never would have imagined possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars A+ book that keeps you reading all the way through August 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I don't know what made me download this book because it is not the type of book I read as a rule. I read some of the ratings and thought I may download it for my 14 year old granddaughter to read when she visits. When I get a book for her to read I always do a check to make sure it is ok for her age to read. That is how it started but I was hooked and read the whole book by the next day! I will read anything this writer does and I recomend this as a great can't put down book (which is hard when you are reading it through a big laptop)! I will also start looking at Supernatural/Psychological books which I didn't before.

This book will grab you and keep you reading then wishing it was 400 more pages of it to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Read July 27, 2012

A GREAT READ! This book was great and so well written. While I have kids older than Flo, I could completely relate to her insecurities as a person. I loved the interaction between her and Frank's family. It felt a little bit like the Cullen family in the manner of closeness and acceptance, and it was just what Flo needed. The antihero Josh was such a jerk he was a pleasure to hate and I cheerfully look forward to (hopefully) his growth and redemption later on. He's a great character. (very Draco Malfoy-esque, but an even more serious emotional headcase.) I can see that I will be purchasing other books by this talented author. Just imagine, books (especially kindle books) with all the fun and fear of a YA Paranormal, but without all the sentence structure flaws! All authors should train as editors, because I am duly impressed.
The ultimate compliment- I just finished it and am creeped out and a teensy bit scared enough that I will have to read something technical, or dry and boring before I attempt sleep. I need this OUT of my head before it hits the pillow. Kudos!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Beneath the Moon and Stars review April 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A strange fire is about a girl who moves to a new town meets a guy and her world gets turned upside down.

There was only one thing that annoyed me about Florence. That was her stutter. It was really hard to read. After awhile you get used to it though. Her aura reading power was so awesome. Seriously I wish I had that power. Another thing I really liked was how her and Franklin got to know each other before falling in love. Franklin is so so so cute. Franklin and Flo are probably why I loved this book so much. Their absolutely adorable. The secondary characters were cool too. I really liked Flo's friends and Franklin's family.

There wasn't really much of a plot. There was a ton of excitement at the end but not so much throughout the rest of the book. The characters were really good. I think the author put more attention into the characters and not enough into the plot. I actually read it very quickly so it kept my attention pretty well. A little more excitement and it would have been perfect.

Overall I really enjoyed this. I hope there is a sequel soon. 4/5 stars

3.0 out of 5 stars a take on Twilight??
This story seem like a fairy tale or a take on the Twilight series.
The only thing real about it was that people do have problems in real life and family life.
