YES, the fully licensed original mixes are on here!!!, September 15, 2005
This review is from: Strange Games and Things (Audio CD)
No matter where I read reviews of this series, everyone failed to mention if the original recordings were included-it sounds as if this DJ Spinna guy remixes all these songs-it says "mixed by DJ Spinna" on every disc! Couldn't be anymore confusing.
I have no opinion on the continuous remix disc, but the two UN-beatmixed discs are the complete original recordings. You are going to find some real rare treats here, like the original cut of Dee Dee Sharp's "Easy Money." Even Eddie Kendrick's "Girl You Need a Change of Mind" is the full length version, not the "part 1" used on his greatest hits CD. A real gem for collectors, I'd get this while you can. Track times:

Apart from the actual mix, 5 star material.., September 29, 2008

Buyers should understand what they're getting, and this site takes the cake for not being clear. For example, potential buyer might want to ask seller if they are getting the 'box set' or the digi-pak cd case set.
Next, there's the issue of content. For DJ Spinna's actual mix, don't buy this cd.. it's hardly worth reviewing.. some scratching here and there, and probably mostly where it shouldn't be.. songs cut way short, awkward seguing (e.g. Bohannon's mournful "Save Their Souls" seguing into Linda William's "Elevate Your Mind" - like going from a funeral to an aerobics class. As if the silly scratching in Save Their Souls weren't enough ;).
Do get this CD set for CDs 2 and 3. They are unmixed and are sold separately in other packages as well. CD 2 is STRANGE GAMES AND THINGS. CD 3 is the awesome STRANGE GAMES & FUNKY THINGS II, which may be out of print elsewhere. For this compilation alone, this CD set is worth getting. The cover art may be a lame rip-off of the album art on Kenny Dope's STRANGE GAMES AND FUNKY THINGS III, but it's CD 2 and 3 on Spinna's STRANGE GAMES AND THINGS that makes this a good buy. Actually, I am really curious to know who put those two compilations together - STRANGE GAMES AND THINGS I, and STRANGE GAMES & FUNKY THINGS II.
